So the game is basically a clicker game. If you're looking for a normal dungeon crawler rogue-like game, this is not it.
While that was a bit disappointing, it is a decent clicker game (if you're into that genre).
First Impression Gameplay:

Basically you start with a single guy and play through as many waves of enemies as possible before you die. Collecting coins and gems as you go. Once you die, it returns you to the campsite where you can spend the coins on new companions (you can have 3 active at a time) and buy items to improve your companions at a store.
Companions can be given items in equipment slots to improve their defense or attack slightly so they last longer in combat. Combat is very simplistic, where all you really do is click repeatedly to animate your hero's attack. You can also move your character from left to right so your attacks actually connect with enemies. The game is side scrolling, where you move left to right where enemies spawn, you clear the wave, then move right again. Every so often a boss will spawn. For some reason, you can activate "AFK" mode, where the game literally plays itself. I'm not kidding, you don't have to do anything.
Aside from gameplay, the cartoonist style is pretty awesome. And the music was great as well. No complains about that.
As far as glitches/play-ability goes, sometimes you outpace the black fog in-front of you, which is weird and annoying. Also, there seems to be a lot of stuttering that is not related to FPS. Not sure what was going on, but I was at a constant 300+ fps with frequent hiccups.
Overall, the game is pretty cheap and a decent clicker game. If you are looking for anything other than a clicker game, stay away. Otherwise, you'll probably enjoy it. Consider my review more neutral than positive.

It has some interesting art style, as well as music but with all its potential it falls short of expectations.
It has some simplistic RPG elements, with BOSS fights, equipment loot, and hero progression.
Unfortunately, it's all lacking, and higher level gears are just reused assets with higher numbers on them and different colours.
There is a game breaking bug as well if you gather too many items of one type your game will crash.
Shade… I was so disappointed with it as I had high hopes for this one. Like that, it's going to be a clicker RPG Cuphead, just that it isn't :(
Overall it actually feels more like someones doctoral thesis than an actual product.
Undefendable if you ask me.

I've played around with this game, trying to get a feel for it, and there doesn't seem to be much here. As the other reviews have described, it's basically and idle/clicker, which is a genre I enjoy, but this one is simply too shallow to hold my interest. You collect heroes, level them up, equip them with gear, and combine them to increase their rank. And that appears to be it. No secondary progression systems. Only two currencies to worry about. No crafting or anything else to give a sense of achievement or progression. Yeah, it's cheap, but even then, there are better places to spend my money. You can probably get a couple hours of enjoyment out of it, but then you'll be faced with more of the same.

From the developers that brought you an average clicker game with a lot of bugs, comes yet another average clicker game with even more bugs. To be fair, FlameBound is an improvement to Forbidden Clicker Party in terms of complexity, which was not that difficult to accomplish. Both games are character based grinders where you buy party members, level them up and purchase items. This time around you can actually control each character, unfortunately that is a completely worthless feature because the autoplay mode is more time efficient. Honestly, I think the auto mode is just bad for the game, it ruins the progression to a point where there is no reason to ever play manually. Maybe there should be no speed boost when you AFK? As long as the playing field is equal between all players, we do not need a feature that ruins enjoyable progression.
To put it into perspective, imagine that you find a 1 damage weapon early in the game. Two minutes later you find a 300 damage weapon and then you are blasting your way through the game without playing, it just becomes an idle grinder at that point. I mean usually that is how clicker games go, but it happens so quickly here. It could be a nice grinding experience, if there was some incentive to actually put your hands on a keyboard. Did I hear some of the same music from the last game? There are a few things that I dislike more than cutting corners on the soundtrack. I personally like the art design of this game, especially considering a very insignificant price tag, kind of like a lower quality Cuphead . I like randomized items in the store and combining heroes to create a better one, I mean those are nice features, you just need a reasonable progression to go with that.
Pros:
+ enjoyable art design
+ optional manual control
+ lots of characters
+ many items
+ a feature that combines characters for better one
Cons:
- OP automode, might as well not play the game
- frame rate problems
- lots of bugs
- not happy about using some of the same songs
- I am not sure if game can handle that deadly cloud XD
Overall Thoughts: 4/10
This review would be marginally positive if there was no autoplay, its speed boost makes the manual clicking completely irrelevant (2 minutes into the game it is better to just autoplay). I am not playing a "clicker" game several times slower just because I want it to feel better, that should not be a problem in a first place. I can forgive bugs and I can forgive framerate problems, but that progression system needs to be enjoyable.
