Short and bittersweet game. Compelling story and characters. Beautiful music.

Thought I'd review since there weren't too many here. TFWM is a cute game with enjoyable stories and believable characters; I enjoyed the pixel art and the general feel of the game. I liked the ability to rewind and see what effect different choices had on the story, and the music was nice without getting in the way. My one comment would be that the use of some words like "wanna" or "dumbass" pull me out of the game's atmosphere a little by feeling a bit too modern for the scene, but it's not too big a deal and doesn't happen often Overall I enjoyed playing TFWM and it was well worth the price, so I'd recommend it to others even if they're not a fan of visual novels

Insane how long people have been sleeping on this game for. The pixel art is absolutely stunning, with animated backgrounds and portraits and everything. The storyline of each character draws you in. In particular I loved Iudicia's character. Definitely recommend this game and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

A small collection of charming short-stories, Tales From Windy Meadow portrays village life on the frontier of a fantastical wilderness. Through the perspectives of three characters, you'll learn about Windy Meadow's people, customs, history, and a wealth of wisdom often found through hardship and loss. The future appears bleak and melancholy at times, yet vibrant with prospects and warmed by the company of family and friends. This is the sort of story I'd like to return to after many years, while reflecting on the lessons of my own life.

So I'm not really into this kind of small indie games and I wasn't quite expecting the experience I got from the Tales from Windy Meadow. After the playthrough I thinkt it's important to know that TFWM is not so much a game but more of a 'visual novel' in the full meaning of the term. The whole gameplay is reading dialogs and making a few decisions. It might sound boring but the world depicted in the game is really immersive (great music intensifies the effect). Three characters we play are very relatable and in my first walkthrough (which took a bit over 3 hours) I was totally lost to the world outside. I think what I liked the most is the world of Viaticum where the story takes place. Even though we don't see any monsters and there are no fights in the game we can be sure that every encounter and every step outside the village could be lethal. The world is really hostile and there is no place for heroes in shining armors. There is just survival. That's probably why it's so easy to fall for the characters and take every decision of theirs seriously. Viaticum reminds me of a movie "The Witch" with its dense and dark atmosphere and with a threat hiding behind every corner. In this dark reality that villagers from Windy Meadow live we can experience their "slice of life" which suprisingly is very similar to our own. It's quite a nice realization that despite the times (or in this case worlds) we live in, the things that differ us the most are our clothes and the view outside our window. It's also necessary to mention the beautiful pixel art. Tales from Windy Meadow are really nice to look at. In summary: +immersive wolrd +relatable characters with intersting dillemas and backstories +beautiful graphics +perfectly matched music Tales from Windy Meadow was a very interesting experience for me. It's totally worth the time and the few dollars.

A great little visual novel about 3 different characters living in a rural village, each having life changing decisions that need to be made. It's set in a fantasy setting, though those paticular elements are downplayed, and the story is more down to earth and relatable for each character. Can't really say much without spoiling a great deal, but each character is intersting and you do become invested in them with the short time you spend with them. Gameplay is pretty standard, clicking through the dialogue with the occasional choice. There are plenty of save slots to quickly go back to the decision making scenes if you want. Would definitely recommend!
