A short story about a frog that can not only heal the environment. Pros: -unique mechanics -various weapons - Good pixel art and sound design -nice story twist Cons: -no overview of the controls (keyboard&mouse; controller) -not enough info about the characters

probably wouldnt recommend it to anyone, the art *is* cute and it's good for what it is but that's about it. (it'd be more of a middle between yes and no than a full no but theres not and option for that)

Took exactly one hour to get through the main story line, overall an extremely relaxing short game with a nice story and interesting mechanics. Music and art style were very nice and relaxing as well, played this on stream and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cute lil game with amazing music! If you are looking for a super long experience you wont find it here, but if you want a short story with a bit of poetry, I would recommend checking this game out!

Such a cute and effective game. The narrative throughpoint is simple and thought it doesn't hit like a ton of bricks or anything, is simple and quaint. Gave me the emotional effect it wanted to. Really fun and I highly recommend it!

I actually liked playing this game, its so charming and chill, but its just way too short. Please add more content to Dawngrown. 6 dollars for less than 2 hours of gameplay?

It's short, it's sweet, and it's certainly less than 10 bucks. It definitely seems like a story that's meant to be told over a longer arc, but got rushed, which doesn't make the emotional parts hit as hard. It IS however a very cute game with charming pixel art and music ♥! I would love to see this game's ideas expanded on in a more coherent way (rather than throwing the player in with very little elaboration)!

If you are looking for a game with a beautiful structure in pixel art, good game play music, with an original concept, this game is for you. As well as, if you are one of those who want to support new developers and be part of their projects, I recommend it. Now if you are looking for something where you can immerse yourself and explore how to exploit the game's potential, I don't recommend it, as it is a game that looks really cute and short, but the game play feels unfortunately rather lacking in some cases. Overall, play the game and enjoy the short adventure of a Froggy who wants to clean the world from corruption!

Short and cute. Hugi's debut game on steam was a good one. great graphics, music, and gameplay loop that'll make you joyous. Great work to the entire team!

dawngrowth feels like a couple interesting ideas thrown together in a very short span of time without much deliberation put into shaping them into something fun or engaging. it clearly wears aspirations of being a cute wholesome comfy game about emotions but it falls short of evoking anything in me beyond it being nice to look at. there's not much to see here and what is here is fairly rough. i'll say again that the game looks nice, the pixel art is competently crafted and the character designs and world are adorable at but it feels vaguely cynical how shallow every other aspect of dawngrowth is. the character writing is at best inoffensive but at times feels almost desperate and vaguely cloying. the whole story feels like it was adapted directly from a one page rough draft. the most important aspect of a cozy game like this is endearing a player to the world and characters and dawngrowth seems like it makes a token effort but utterly fails. the gameplay alternates between clearing areas of corruption and then "painting" over the whole level screen with a separate tool. it's simple and promising gameplay at the start but levels quickly become tedious as options are introduced but then strangely taken away making the whole experience a chore. the screen painting is profoundly annoying to do with a controller. i switched over to using mouse and keyboard for those segments but neither set of controls feels quite right for playing the whole game. i want to stress that the problems with this game are not that it's small, i love a lot of small games that put all their effort into a handful of ideas. dawngrowth is trying to do slightly too many things for its very short length and as such fails to develop any of of its ideas much at all. it leads to an unfocused experience.
