Great and addictive game. Optimizing the hospital and in between diagnosing patients yourself is so much fun. Warning: can cause new phobias of diseases you did not know before.

I'd be very conflicted to properly recommend this game. On one hand, Project Hospital does what it sets out to do extremely well. On the other hand, it has a couple of issues that makes scaling up and building an efficient hospital a nightmare. The maps are relatively tiny for anyone wanting to build a major hospital, resulting in any hospital that houses all departments becoming a single building with a ridiculous amount of floors. And to top that off, there are no stairs - just elevators, hurting realism. The doctor AI is terribly inefficient at diagnosing patients, ordering batches of unnecessary lab tests for no real reason. Patients almost immediately collapse as you enable hospitalisation in certain departments. This creates a situation where you have to micromanage each and every patient that has collapsed to prevent their death. The doctor AI simply cannot handle it. This results in the game grinding to a halt, because you've decided to micromanage all ambulance patients, as well as the departments where collapses are rampant. Want to mod it? You can, and quite a lot can be modded in fact! Unfortunately, the mods on the workshop only exacerbate these issues without fixing any of them. New departments result in diagnostics bloat resulting in the AI running even more unnecessary tests. Some departments require you to manually transfer patients between departments to further exacerbate the micromanagement, and some departments cannot be handled by the game since they lack a hospitalisation wing. But, despite these issues, this game with its DLCs is a lot of fun. Yes, it's got a lot of grind. Yes, it's got its flaws. Yes, you can cheese the game in its early stages by not enabling hospitalisation. Yes, the game takes some time to properly learn. But is it worth your time? I'd say, maybe. If the things I mentioned above are a turnoff, skip this. If not and you want a game that requires micromanaging and deals with hospitals, do pick the game up.

Super fun gameplay, it can definitely be challenging at times but in a good way, UI takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it this game is fantastic. Mods enhance it even more and definitely worth picking up the DLCs

I love the game so far. As a person in the medical field it is a great tool for study. Wish there were more updates with other departments and more challenges.

Project Hospital is a very deep management based game. Its fun, challenging and sometimes a little confusing (mainly if you have not played the tutorials and go straight to sandbox). I found that the more organized of a person you are, the more easier the game may be. That is, until you start expanding in various areas and start having random events that you need to brace yourself for. You might never be prepared for whats to come but you can make it easier on yourself to identify people, places and things if you play your cards right. Some things I found to be helpful for myself when I play: - Color code walls and floors based on the departments, so they are easy to find. Otherwise, you might find every department blending in if you dont and get a little lost. - Sometimes the room size requirements make for difficult tasks for placement of items needed in that room. I tend to sometimes go another 1-2 blocks bigger on rooms from the requirement, just to make sure everything doesnt look overly cramped and that everything fits accordingly. - Strategically plan your layout for every department. I like to keep things like wards for specific departments grouped together or doctors offices who diagnose patients right near the reception and waiting room for quicker in and outs or moving of patients at a time. - If you can, to generate a constant and ongoing revenue outside of just patient care, open a pharmacy within the hospital. While meds might be somewhere around $20 - $100 per person, its a good start to keeping the cash flowing. Vending/coffee machines also help thats accessible to the patients/guests to generate revenue. You may come to find that insurance tasks might be a confusing. This might be especially true if you have not played the tutorial. I found quite a few times that I was looking things up on google asking what they meant, requirements to unlock or 'how to'. Even though the game has a quick reference guide on some 'how to' things, its very general/basic help. The music when starting up the game I find to always be very catchy. As you load into the game, its the same tune but more relaxed/mellow. Perhaps so you can concentrate on the tasks at hand. Either way, I love how it came together for an emergency/hospital-based tune. One thing I will point out that threw me for a loop is that, while you can have multiple departments share the same rooms like a common room or restrooms, the cleaning closet is specific to each department you create and cannot be shared. A cleaning closet is a requirement for every department and while it might be created, it isnt a requirement to hire another janitor. From what I have witnessed, janitors will usually move out to any place that needs assistance. Speaking of janitors, I couldnt figure out why some would be late for work or not even show up occasionally. I have found multiple responses to this. Either its a negative trait of the worker such as 'long communte' (so their always late) or the hospital is not dirty enough for them to show up or stick around. Once everything apparently is clean, i guess they go home for the day/night? As your hospital becomes more populated with tons more people, i believe they stick around and show up more often (i havent been paying too close attention). One thing I do enjoy seeing is the various types of illnesses or injuries that the doctors are working to narrow down to the root of the symptom then executing the cure or solution. There may be times where the doctor is clueless to whats going on with the patient and will require your interaction to help assist them in finding out what might be wrong with them such as suggesting some medical testing like blood tests. Whats also nice is if you run out of room on the bottom floor, you can always build upwards with an elevator. I dont remember how many floors you can have in total. Its highly suggested to get the expansions/DLC. I did and I love every bit of them. I thankfully have not come across any bugs either.

As someone who works in a Hospital, I can confidently verify the legitimacy and accuracy of the simulation presented in this game. It's incredibly detailed, and really showcases the various parts of Health-and-Hospital care in a way that's both entertaining and educational. From real-world diseases to mass-casualty incident events, from managing everything on a macro scale to taking control of a specific patient's treatment from admission to discharge, this Hospital sim has all one could hope for! And it's not super demanding of PC specs, so you can even play this on a Hospital computer (but please don't, unless it's your designated break/recreation period)! I give this 10 overworked Nursing Assistants out of 10!
