Foto Flash 2's common theme? Awful. The game has awful controls, keyboard or controller. It is badly programmed, so you keep getting stuck on environement, espescially escalators. Speaking of the environment, it is awfully bland. And the pictures for the pin-up calendar are awful. This is the most condemming thing here. The big "rewards" for the fetch quests just don't look good. But there is one more thing, that makes this game awful. Mandatory, stupidly hard and badly programmed minigames. Mandatory! Asteroids! Unresonsive! Snake! Dumb! Fishing! DAFUQ Stay away. Any price is too high for this. Any time investment is too long for this. Not a single compelling or even apreciated minute was found in here. Here for the girls = eh get it Anything else = No, watered down short game, very bland Note: the game has a few bugs some which freeze the game so do not purchase because they are easy to run into. Quite short compared to the first. The mall is bland even for one shutting down it just seems dead compared to the wonderful area we got in the first game. I found the puzzles easier due to this and had no issue with them. It got toned down compared to the first game. The mini games are just arcade classics, not bad but the meteor one is a pain at the moment without pure luck. It feels the same but feels watered down compared to the first game, be nice if the mall was more alive or didn't seem like 3/4 of it was just worthless space. A let down to be honest.

So i like the fact that there's a sequel, but on release for the first game, i didn't encounter too many glitches crashes or bugs, this time around I'm starting to see immediately you can't screenshot in game with f12 for steam. Also I got stuck around the hotdog girl on and it keeps crashing here. The backroom for the gun for Cactus is a pain cuz the boxes are too easily moved so yeah just the first few mins I'm already a tad irked.

A sequel to the fun Foto Flash, which itself is an homage to Franks Adventure which was awesome. It's still the same scavenger hunt game play where you find item, give item to proper person, get new item, give item to girl, then finally give item to pretty lady for pinup shot. This game isn't as fun as the last one mostly just from I didn't much care for the mall but I did enjoy the individual characters and humor. Giving a certain someone a ledger to get drugs to give to a host to give a good review for the mall is odd enough to be funny to me. The art is still pretty good and the ending funny enough to get a recommend from me. Would say $2 is fair but if your feeling generous spring for the full $3. Edit: I forgot to mention the arcade games. You need to get the high score in these to get a pic but some of it is brutal. I remember Frank's Adventure 3 doing the same thing and I also found that to be hard as hell. Just thought I'd warn some people who remember that.

A great game, but not as amazing as the first one. It was charming, but felt a bit more empty. Also getting the achievment for the racing game was hard AF because the sensitivity and controls completely changed when the speed went up in the end. And the sensitivity should be a bit higher in asteroids. And then my biggest issue: foto flash 3, when???

It's not as good as the first one and that wasn't a high bar. The girls are cute, the gameplay is OK. The puzzles are less intuitive, the levels of the mall are hard to distinguish in terms of what you can and can't walk through, and there's literally a secret stairway that eliminates one of the challenges... which is actually a good thing because it would've been annoying otherwise.

Sadly I can't recommend this game. It's a downgrade compared to it's predecessor in every way. The gameplay is essentially the same but the puzzles are even simpler. The artwork is as good but instead of staying as lewd overall or getting ideally lewder it got a bit softer. The map design is completely boring and downright badly done and sucks to navigate at some points. The game is considerably shorter even with all of this. Don't pay attention to my playtime, it takes around 45mins to finish it. There's no time trial mode this time around and I spent about 50mins trying to get the car arcade game achievement but as soon as you hit 170 score the control become so sensitive that even a light tap on the keyboard sends you down two lanes and borks you up. And the 100 score one for the turbo snake arcade game I'm not even going to attempt at this point. Also giving the clue #2 to the panties guy froze my game. Luckily even though I didn't save since the beginning the game autosaved which was a nice surprise, if we can really say that. Heard someone else got soflocked too after giving him the hot dog lol. I really hope the dev learns from all of this if he ever makes a third one, which I still would like to see because the first one was neat, and improves upon everything.

Not as good as the first one. The mall is a far less interesting and varied, visually, as far as the artwork goes than the city was in the last one. This one feels rather "phoned in" than the charming "Nippledew Valley" we had in the last one. However, the artwork on the girls is still great. I really liked the end and it makes me look forward to the next one. I would humbly request that they not include the arcade games in the next one. Honestly, for 3 bucks this was worth my time. 2.0 hours is up from the 1.8 hours in the last one, but thats padded by those stupid arcade mini games. Well cheaper than a movie, even a Matinee.

Foto Flash is back and there's more photos to take and a new location to explore. Story: Set right after the first game, you still pay as the photographer who won a vacation. You decide to visit a mall which is dying and the owner of the mall wants you to help her assemble a calendar with the girls working at the mall in the hopes of saving it. The story is pretty much identical to the first game, where you try to save a dying business by taking photos. It's fine for what it is and it does what it sets out to do, but again it's nothing special. Writing is again pretty cheesy, but I still enjoyed the story somewhat, not to mention the crazy cliffhanger ending. However I will say the cliffhanger ending is really disappointing since there's basically no chance of a Foto Flash 3 because the dev has gone quiet since the release of this game, I would definitely buy a Foto Flash 3, but it's unlikely to ever happen. Graphics: One thing that I really liked about the first game is the bright and colorful art style of the world. It was an absolute joy to explore the world, which is why I'm so disappointed about the sequels choice of ditching a bright and colorful world into a drab and bland shopping mall. The mall itself just looks boring, all of it mostly looks the same, with white tiles and mall stuff like benches and trash cans scattered everywhere. It's really boring and kind of depressing to explore, not to mention since most of it looks the same, it's kind of difficult to find your footing. I will say the design for the girls is just as good as the first one, so there's at least one positive, but everything else is an absolute downgrade. Audio: The music is also not as good as the first one, it's just okay at best. Since you're stuck indoors at a mall, there's not really much ambience, just music that sounds like it's coming from the malls speakers, which was a cool touch, but other than that it was just sort of disappointing. Gameplay: Foto Flash 2 is almost identical in gameplay to the first one. There's 10 girls and to get their photos you have to do a favor for them to get their photo. The puzzles this time are around much easier than the first one and actually in some instances even worse. One of the worst additions was the arcade games you have to play to get a photo of one the girls. There's three games and you have to get a high score in each of them and the controls of them are horrendous. Because of the insanely stiff controls they are super difficult to play and give the game a massive difficulty spike. The slippery controls return and due to the malls design it's easy to get stuck in very tight corners and when you get to the box pushing puzzle, it really becomes annoying. I think the game is much easier overall and also much smaller in size. Verdict: Foto Flash 2 is a really disappointing sequel and a downgrade to the first game in every way. I still had a fun time playing, but I can't deny that I didn't have as much as fun as I did with the first one. It's also much shorter than the first one, just roughly an hour, but the developers even warned about this on the store page so I don't mind that much. The game also has more bugs than the first and more issues, but on a sale I can still recommend this one. Final Rating: 6/10 Pros: + The art of the girls is really good + Some decent puzzles Cons: - The Mall is a terrible location - The slippery controls are even worse here - Those arcade games If you liked the review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog and https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews

I bought the first game because I love Rafchu's art, and I found it to be an enjoyable little puzzle game with cute art, and simple but fun puzzles reminiscent of the flash games the Foto Flash series is based off of. Foto Flash 2 is a definite downgrade, this is because of issues from the last game still being present, as well as new problems. A returning problem is the overall lack of polish, stemming from non animating sprites and the fact that slopes weren't programmed into the collision, so if you want to walk down a narrow path, you're going to get frustrated for a bit while you try to precisely position your character perfectly to walk through the path's opening. And, that is going to happen a lot, since the mall has a few thin escalators you're constantly crossing as you move back and forth through the mall to solve puzzles. Those two problems, the collision and the sprites, wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for the new flaws. The most obvious flaw is the mall itself: it's visually bland and lacking in tileset variety, causing exploration to be confusing at first because of how very few things visually give you clues as to where you are. God, I wish I was an art director of some sort for this game, because I think adding garbage everywhere and making the mall actually look dirty and run-down would be really charming and funny. The puzzles are also comparitively simpler than the last game; less things to keep track of and less motivations to explore the mall. The most challenging part of the game comes from trying to remember where everything is on the map. I get the feeling that might be a side effect of the inclusion of the arcade games. The arcade games, (along with the fishing minigame) themselves are flaws on their own, as they're simple, but also tedious and time-consuming to complete. You'll be playing these games, trying to get the high scores because that's required to beat the game, and you'll be wishing you could just be done with them all and continue the main game. I also found there to be a few game-breaking glitches, like how offering certain characters hot-dogs creates a text box you can't proceed from, forcing you to restart the game. These next couple points are subjective and opinion-based, so I don't think they'll be universally agreed with. I found the music to be not quite as catchy as the last game. The main track in particular gets especially annoying the longer it's on loop. And, lastly, I think the cast of girls is much more hit-or-miss than the last game. The last game had a lineup of girls that were all pretty much equally cute and well designed, but that isn't the case in Foto Flash 2. Some of the girls are really nice looking and have really charming designs, while the remaining handful look either bland, slightly awkward, or downright ugly with one character (you can probably guess who). Rafchu's art is still fantastic, so even if a number of the girls aren't your taste, you can at least appreciate the well-done pinup art. I will say though, the ending got a lot of chuckles out of me, and I think it's the best part of the game. The comedy and the unexpectedness really caught me offguard. Combined with the fact that it's a cliff-hanger, I definitely interested to see how the next game will shape up. Overall, it just doesn't seem like as much effort was put into this sequal. Not to say no effort was put into it at all, but it was absolutely rushed. If you played the first game, then I'd say it's worth it to see the new character designs and the new cheesecake art, but I really wouldn't reccomend this as the starting point. For returning players, two or three bucks for more of the first game's charm and cute art, I'd say, is worth it. My advice for the third entry of Foto Flash's series would be to put more thought into the main gameplay style, which would be the scavenger hunt puzzles. The minigames really aren't a good replacement for the lack of puzzle complexity. I also think giving the character and object sprites two or three frames of animation would also bring the game to life. Heck, I'd even offer to do the animations myself. also please make it less annoying to walk through narrow openings. Either make them wider, or program slopes.
