Chapter 5: Plot Open the door and proceed in. HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE. other than that it's fine

The combat has the benefits of Zoro's from the last DLC, with faster paced moves that don't feel as slugish, but also traversal I found more enjoyable than Luffys, however there is still a very abrupt difficulty spike, which I once again turned to easy mode for because I didn't wannna keep wasting time grinding, which is a big issue here. It's like they weren't confident in the length so just add a difficulty spike to make it longer in the middle which kinda feels cheap. The story has an interesting idea where they draw parallels between Isacc and Sabo, which is a clever pairing I didn't consider, but the story is so short and has only very brief moments between the two so it doesn't come across to it's fullest potential.

I beat the absolute ♥♥♥♥ out of fleet admiral sakazuki! (ಥ﹏ಥ) also made sure to finish him off with a fire fist only 40 minutes of gameplay here. would not buy this stand alone DLC or the episode pass, nab them all and the game on SUUUUPER discount with delux edition or not at all. not missing much

Good DLC Since the Mera-Mera No Mi [Flame-Flame Fruit] is one of my favorite devil fruits Playing as Sabo and using that devil fruit is dope!

All three of the DLC Episodes were fun to play. All far too short, but the challenges add good replay value.

God awful. Glitchy mess with false difficulty instead of having actual good AI. Instead of making the game hard they swarm you with enemies with a ton of health that deal a ton of damage. (Unreachable turrets too and when you do reach them and hit them they don't "die"?) ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stealth sections due to the game having no real stealth mechanics AT ALL. This DLC really showcases how bad and inconsistent this game's combat is. Using Luffy and Zoro, yeah, sure, it sucked but it was fun and teh animations were nice. But, with Sabo's DLC the poor combat and overall gameplay shines through. If you do play, I'd say get to a specific fight (avoiding spoilers) and then stop there. Not worth playing unless if you want to continue with ♥♥♥♥ combat and general annoyance.

The second DLC for World Seeker is... Meh. I've tried to make this review as spoiler-free as possible but read at your own risk anyway!
STORY
The story plays out adjacent to the main story, like with the Zoro DLC. Personally I have always been a fan of these kinds of DLCs. It's cool to play the same story through another character's eyes, and the same goes for Sabo. However, it's INCREDIBLY short! Playing on normal I was able to beat this DLC in less than two hours. I'm quite sure that you can speedrun this in less than 20 minutes, if you know what you're doing. Just as stuff gets interesting and BOOM here's the final boss fight (which in itself was pretty underwhelming IMO). As for the ending, I think it ties together pretty well with the main story. Better than the Zoro DLC.
SABO
On paper Sabo sounds like the most fun character to play as out of all DLC characters, but the truth is he is very disappointing. He is like a watered-down Luffy. I don't know where to start. Sabo has his own version of Luffy's gomu gomu no rocket, which does make it quicker to explore, but half the time it always throws you forward instead of up in the air like it should be. Very annoying. I would've prefered that the wall jump came back from Zoro's DLC instead. Also, if you're gonna mimic Luffy's "explore" moveset, please add a Sabo version of UFO. Platforming becomes very difficult and frustrating without it. Again, why didn't they just give him the ability to wall jump? Better yet, just make Sabo able to fly because I'm pretty sure the mera-mera no mi allows you to do that. Would've made him stand out from Luffy and Zoro more, too. As for the combat... It's just bad. And that sucks because Sabo has a very powerful logia devil fruit but it's like the developers did not utilize that at all. His moves are sloooooow. The hold mouse button 1 attack takes like two seconds before the attack starts charging, giving all your enemies the time they need to hit you multiple times. I'll admit it looks cool when you manage to pull it off, but in the end you rarely use it anyway because of said start-up time. Sabo's ranged attack is laughable. Think Zoro's, but even more slow AND no distance at all. Like, barely 5 meters. Charging up makes it worse x2. You'd think it makes some damage, but nah. But I think the worst part is that there's no Gear 4th/Serious Mode similiar type of transformation . I am very let down about this because it just makes it more harder to play as Sabo than it has to be. How come Zoro gets a transformation but not Sabo? It makes more sense that Sabo has one than anyone else! Just make him turn into his element completely! He already does that anyway when he dodges so I don't see the problem. There is some good stuff though. Sabo gets his own unique AOE arial attack (kind off!) Jumping up into the air whilst holding mouse button 1 will make Sabo charge up a mera-mera no mi infused punch and then slam into the ground, and it's very satisfying to do. It's a shame there aren't more of these kinds of attacks for Sabo because it would make playing as him way more fun. Also, IMHO, Sabo has the best special attack moveset out of all playable characters so far. Don't get me wrong, they're similiar in structure to Luffy's and Zoro's. There's a ranged one, an AOE one, etc. but they just work better and make some serious damage. Plus, they all look amazing. I also find it easier to build up tension with Sabo so maybe this has a correlation.
WORLD
The game world is pretty much exactly the same, no surprises here. They've added some caves to explore, but there's nothing special about them really. You're only ever gonna visit them when doing quests, otherwise there's no reason at all to be there other than finding chests. This DLC also suffers from "only-gonna-stay-in-one-or-two-areas-syndrome". The whole DLC takes place in only two or three areas. The only incentive to explore the whole map (again...) is to find the chests, which are in the same exact spots. Yawn. One super cool thing though, and probably my favourite part about this DLC, is that you get to visit a particular world and meet a fan favorite character. That's all I'm gonna say. You could probably guess already. Like with the main game you can also find powerful characters guarding certain places. I've already found Tashigi, so I expect there's more of them.
CONCLUSION
This DLC has many flaws, and it's so far the least enjoyable one yet, but it does make up for it in some places. At the end of the day, if you're a One Piece fan you're probably gonna like it regardless. You can't really complain that much neither when this DLC is pretty cheap, though I'd still advise to try and pick it up during a sale if possible. We'll see what they have in store with the upcoming Law DLC. It's probably my most anticipated one.
Introduction
The next DLC is Sabo’s DLC and Sabo brings a new story, new moves, and of course some problems that I will cover of course. Now I was looking forward to playing as Sabo as he is a great character for One Piece and has one of the fan-favorite Devil Fruits the Mera-Mera No Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit or the Flare-Flare Fruit).
Story
The story starts out with Sabo laying down on a Marine tower and is getting ready to investigate Prison Island and why the World Government is on the island. Sabo gets into a fight with a few Marines and forgets that he has a logia, gets hit a few times and beats them up only to find out that the black market is involved so Sabo goes to Amber Harber to investigate. As soon as Sabo arrives he sneaks into the underground base that pirates are going through only to find Germa 66 which by the way they just come out of nowhere and decide they want to be part of this game again. I should point this out that Reiju gets no love what so ever as she is not in the game as only Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji are in the game and Reiju just gets left out, she must have called in sick. Sabo fights the three brothers, forgets he has a logia again, staggers a bit, and he beats Germ 66 (The brothers don’t have Haki I checked). After the fight, the Vinsmoke brothers disappear and are never heard from again. Sabo finds out that both Pirates and Marines are working together and Sabo goes to find Isac and Isac tells him that Cipher Pol Agents may have the clues he is looking for and that Isac has a plan that Sabo is falling into, however, Sabo actual goes alone with Isac’s plan. However, before Sabo can go to the Cipher Pol camps he meets with Jeanne and she tells him that she was looking for Isac, Sabo tells her that she will look out for her brother as she has been looking out for Luffy. Sabo finds the CP Agents camp and listens to the information they have provided and when they run off Sabo finds a mirror and Sabo is sucked in and get this out of nowhere Katakuri just pops out. Now the first problem is how did the mirror get there, I know Charlotte Brulee has the power to make mirrors but it just comes out of nowhere. However, the next problem is that Katakuri has no reason to be in this story, he has nothing to do with the plot and is just there to space out time. The black market was mentioned in the main story with Luffy so Germa 66 being here at least makes sense despite only appearing like once in the main story and once in Sabo’s DLC. Now Sabo’s story for his DLC is good but it just has all this stuff and just goes nowhere and has all these plot holes and problems that I just can’t ignore.
Gameplay
So out of all the characters, Sabo is the best to control and his gameplay actually makes sense with World Seekers gameplay, the game still has problems with combat but for the most part, Sabo’s combos are nice to use. Sabo has this meter called the Flame-Flame meter, the more Sabo uses his normal attacks the more damage Sabo can dish out, because of this, Sabo can deal the most damage than any other character in the game thanks to this meter. Sabo has a one, two, punch combo that is nice to pull off and works well with combat and the more moves you can get just make Sabo a fun character to play as. However, when it comes to Sabo’s ability, he has some of the moves Luffy has and some of them feel downgraded and are just not worth using and this is sad, as Sabo has a Logia type Devil Fruit. The devs could have made some really nice moves with Sabo and the moves feel like they were reused to an extent. On top of that Sabo does not have a Series mode or a Gear 4th Mode like Luffy and Zoro have they could have made him turn into fire or something but he does not have that. Now even with the problems, I have had with this DLC I do like Sabo’s gameplay, however, you might be asking what are these problems? It’s the level design. Sabo gets too much thrown at him in turns of combat, the enemies deal way too much damage at times. The boss battles that Sabo also has are not interesting, take the fight with Katakuri for example, the fight between him is not really fun and the boss battles fall under trial and error which is not a bad thing but take the problems with combat into account with my original review. There is also this section with Sabo’s DLC where he has to fight all these CP agents and a Pacifista and even with Sabo’s health maxed, they can take him out in a few hits. There is also a turret gun that will shot you and it can hurt the enemies but it’s mainly aiming at you and you just stagger.
Final Verdict
Now despite the problems, I have mentioned with Sabo’s DLC I actually do recommend it simply because it is fun and maybe you will be able to get past those tricky moments that the DLC throws at you. I should point this out as well, is that Sabo’s DLC does have better combat then what Zoro’s DLC has provided so at the end of the day Sabo’s DLC has something special going for it so at the end of the day I recommend it.
