This is a fantastic puzzle platformer: * Both characters have their own set of abilities that are needed to manouver the mind bending levels. * Each area brings new mechanics from the disintegration rays in the Solarium to the company cubes to the color sprays creepy Arboretum. * The world is both wonderfully dystopian and futuristic. * The atmosphere comes to life with excellent 2.5D visuals and excellent audio Note: I’m only in the third act at the time of this review This is an under-rated gem and I hope that it gets more of the attention it deserves in the future :).

This game looks really nice and interesting but there are too many bugs that make the game unplayable.

4.5/10 It's unfortunate that I can't give Chroma Shift a recommendation. I liked the environmental design and theme, and thought the puzzles were excellent. I also loved the fact that each player plays a different character. One character can operate computer consoles, roll into a ball to navigate through small spaces, and capture a color to be used later. The other can hover across gaps, charge through weakened walls, throw their partner up into the air, or carry weighted cubes. Generally, each room requires that you and your co-op partner acquire certain colors to stand on corresponding pads to open the exit door (although from time to time you'll use a colored cube to activate the pad instead). You can acquire these colors by walking through colored barriers, activating color orbs, or even being shot with colored projectiles. There will be certain barriers in each room that you will be unable to pass through or devices you will be unable to activate unless you are the appropriate color. Some of the puzzles are downright devious, and the challenge may be in avoiding other colors just as often as it is in acquiring a certain color. Where the game really falls apart is with its stability. From our first play session, I had to turn off the game's sound effects, as they repeatedly stuttered and were unpleasant to hear. My co-op partner froze or glitched on many, many occasions. In fact, there was one area in the game that I just played solo after my partner tired of restarting his machine multiple times. He often loaded into the game with the camera malfunctioning or stationary, and various elements of the level were often invisible to him. The glitches became so frustrating that we actually took a one month break from playing the game. In addition, there were occasions where one player fell through the floor, or when a cube will disappear that is necessary for level completion. Lastly, the achievements are buggy. Although I was the host for the entirety of a playthrough, I somehow didn't pick up the achievement for completing the third level. My co-op partner didn't receive the achievement for completing the final stage, as he was residing in some sort of glitchy limbo. He wasn't even able to view the final cut scene. When Chroma Shift functioned correctly, we had a good time with it. But I can't recommend it without major improvements in stability.

A great puzzle game that actaully makes you think and is very relaxing, the story is not given straight away you have to find and work for it in the form of collectables. Good for lower class systems.

Nice Idea, but the game is to bugged to recommend, most of the time the second player can't join. (get's a black screen for example) We will refund our copies as it doesn't look as if the developers are very active.. perhaps we'll buy again if the problems get fixed.

Although the puzzles are ok the game is ultimately just boring. For some reason one doesn't really want to solve the puzzles - and then what's the point? If I realize what makes me not want to do these puzzles, then I'll update the review.

I have the same problem as Massaokakesu, TankBob and iamusername that was reported 31 Dec, 2018. The developer has not fixed nor has the developer done anything. I would suggest people buy a different game until they fix this problem, don't waste your money on this.

It was fun so far, but what is this? Great fun actually. But at some point (just after we acquired the ability to carry colors for shifting into later) it just ends. We fall into the darkness. Can still move and hear sounds of us doing stuff. But can't see anything. Is this a bug? Is there something we're not understanding? Does anybody know how to fix this?

Epic game. Great concept and well executed. Small bugs may be encountered as with any new game but totally worth it. Puzzles are fun and incredibly satisfying to complete. It's nice to find a game that doesnt hold your hand and explain every minor detail and ability to you. Each character has something cool and unique to add to the puzzles that overlap perfectly with the levels and challenges they present. Cant wait to get my friends in on this game for the co-op features. Definitely recommend.

This game is so great! The graphics are simple, yet beautiful. The mechanics are amazing, and the controllers are really well put. The puzzles are sometimes rage-inducing, but in a good way, it feels great to solve them, and it makes you wanna come back for more! There's a really interesting background story that I need to pay attention to. I'll keep on playing! Congratulations to Tara and all of the DevOrDie team! There's certainly a really bright future ahead of you <3
