I just finished playing through Perseverance: Episode 1 & I have to admit, I'm really impressed with it, It was really fun to play, I actually got into the story so much, I can't wait for Episode 2 :D Also, Even if the Game's Dialogue had some spelling & grammar mistakes, It didn't make the story harder to understand, I do admit the Dialogue could use a update, But other then that, I had no problems with it Oh & not to mention that art style was beautiful :3

 >be me >decide to dive into Perseverance: Part 1, intrigued by the horror and drama tag >expecting a standard game, find a layered narrative in a small town called Grey Ville >introduction to Jack Cutter, a 'go-to' guy tangled in family drama and eerie town secrets >the military base nearby doing spooky experiments, and of course, they mess up >suddenly, survival horror meets family crisis >graphics hit differently, like stepping into a dark graphic novel come to life >each scene painted with a mood, from tense family arguments to creeping dread around the base >choices that feel like they're sculpting Jack's very soul, got me thinking about every click >the story splits between Jack's struggle and a mysterious woman with her own heavy agenda >dialogue is crisp, feels like real people with real problems, plus the whole... zombie thing >reach out to devs over a minor issue, expecting to be just another number >surprised by a quick, friendly response—devs are seriously on their game >they make you feel like a part of the game's community, not just a player >soundtrack and ambient sounds are spot on, making every moment in Grey Ville more immersive >the gameplay is rich with choices that add layers to the replay value, hunting those Steam Achievements >about 2 hours of gameplay, but packed with enough drama and suspense to fill a much longer game >small details in animation and background choices bring the scenes alive, making the world feel dynamic >simple yet effective interaction with the devs enhances the overall positive experience >end up fully hooked, wallet out for the next chapter >if you're into dramas that blend everyday life with supernatural crises, this is your jam >10/10, would survive the apocalypse with Jack again Really enjoyed how the game blends personal drama with horror elements. The devs have done a fantastic job making this experience immersive and responsive. Looking forward to what they do in Part 2!
Mulder and Scully Play Perseverance: Part 1 [INT. FBI BASEMENT OFFICE - NIGHT] (Mulder is at his desk, playing on a laptop, headphones on. Scully enters, curious but skeptical.) SCULLY: Mulder, what are you doing? We have cases to solve, not games. MULDER: Scully, you need to see this. It's research. (Scully raises an eyebrow, approaches the desk. Mulder gestures to the chair beside him.) MULDER: It’s a game called Perseverance. You navigate through a town where a military experiment has gone wrong. Sound familiar? SCULLY: Sounds like half the cases we've worked on. (Scully sits down, watches the screen.) [GAME SCREEN - Jack is arguing with his wife Natalie about their daughter's safety.] MULDER: Alright, Scully, your turn. What should Jack do? Keep arguing about the outing or concede to his wife? SCULLY: Concede. Happy wife, happy life, Mulder. MULDER: That’s very un-Mulder of you, Scully. (Scully smirks, takes the mouse, clicks the option.) [GAME SCREEN - The argument calms down.] SCULLY: See? Rational conversation prevents crisis. MULDER: But what about the impending doom lurking around the corner? SCULLY: In a real crisis, I’d trust the science. Not mysterious forces. MULDER: Speaking of mysterious forces, here comes the part where Jack encounters the experiment gone wrong. (Game shows eerie scenes from the military base.) SCULLY: This is eerily similar to our case last month. MULDER: What if I told you I requested that case because I played this game? SCULLY: I would say your sources are becoming increasingly dubious. (Both laugh. They continue playing, immersed in decision-making.) MULDER: Okay, we can either explore the creepy military base or go back to check on the family. Thoughts? SCULLY: Military base. Maybe there’s a rational explanation for all this. MULDER: That’s my Scully, always ready to confront the unknown with a flashlight and a medical kit. (They explore the base in the game, uncovering clues.) MULDER: You ever think our lives could be a game like this? Choices branching out to different endings? SCULLY: I think we make our own endings, Mulder. Game or no game. MULDER: Deep, Scully. Now, help me decide if Jack should trust this mysterious woman or not. SCULLY: Trust no one, Mulder. That’s the rule. MULDER: Except for when you’re playing games? SCULLY: Especially then. (They laugh, continue playing into the night, the glow of the computer screen mixing with the hum of the basement.) [FADE OUT] The End
Hard Times - Paramore [Verse 1] All that I want Is to start up the game, Tell me that Jack’s alright, That zombies are tame. All that I want Is a map in the town, You can tell me when it's alright For Jack to settle down. Gonna make you wonder why you even paused (Hard times) gonna thrill you with a plot that’s deeply applauded (Good vibes) and I still don't know how I adore the vibe (Hard times) (Hard times) And I’m diving into the storyline. [Chorus] Wandering around With my curiosity cloud, Hovering as I play, And it ain’t calming down. Where do I go? Gimme some sort of clue, You hit me with a plot twist, Maybe I’ll see it through. Gonna make you wonder why you even stopped (Hard times) gonna draw you in and make your jaw drop (Great lines) and I still don't know how Jack's gonna survive (Hard times) (Hard times) And I gotta see the end game. [Bridge] Tell my friends I'm hooked right now, We'll geek out when I break it down. Tell my friends I’m deep in thought, We'll cheer when the mystery’s caught.
Perseverance: Whispers of Grey Ville In the muted twilight of Grey Ville, Jack Cutter stands, a silhouette of mundane graces, A father, a husband, tethered to life’s quiet race. Yet beneath this daily mask, fate stirs its silent thrill. Natalie, heart heavy, battles for their daughter, Hope, While Karen, eyes alight with secrets, treads the shadows' slope. Around them, the base—a vault of whispers and fears, Holds a chill that speaks of more than the weather’s tears. Jack walks lines unseen, between normal and the veil, As darker forces move, a tale of night and gale. Monsters born from human hands disrupt the quiet scene, Invading dreams and twisting the night with their unseen sheen. Through trials and echoes of old songs, Jack seeks a steady light, Guiding him through the mystery that dances with the night. In this game of shadows, where each choice ignites a spark, Perseverance calls softly, a beacon against the dark. For beneath the simple surface of Grey Ville’s quiet lore, Lies a deeper truth, profound, stirring the soul’s core. Now players guide Jack’s journey, through puzzles thick and vast, In decisions dark and heavy, where each shadow is cast. Here in Grey Ville, under the cloak of an ordinary night, Courage, love, and fate converge, bringing depth to light.

Short visual novel with good dialogue and interesting themes about relationships and family. You know from the beginning that there's something mysterious going on that these characters will run headlong into. And it's definitely not pretty. There's about 45 minutes to an hours worth of content here that is worth watching. IMHO, it's definitely worth $3.99, even if the story is left unfinished. I hope there's a Part 2!

I am very, very disappointed. I just finished playing the game. I clocked out slightly over an hour. Reviewers said the game finishes without a conclusion, but is kind of interesting. I bought it with a steep discount, in order to experience an interesting story. Well, it was not a story. It was just an episode, and then... it came to an end. It was not even a story ! It was just setting for a story. It was very short. And, in short, I do not recommend buying it. It is not worth the money.

Nice Visual Novel with an horror theme. Slow to start and not very long, but great atmosphere and interesting story ! Can't wait for part 2, as it ends on a cliffhanger and I die to know what happens next... NB : Played it offline so time played displayed on Steam is not correct and misleading. There is around 1 hour of content in this part 1.

Best zombie VN! Engaging story with some choices to make throughout. Appealing art style. Part 2 is soon to be released. I recommend it!

Really like the game and story so far. The art style is nice too and for me is reminiscent of the art style of comic books, and the soundtrack is also good and adds to the atmosphere. The main character and his family are believable and likeable characters, realistically flawed and fighting their own demons, which only adds to the overall impact of the story. There are choices in this game that have some impact of the type of person Jack is, and more minor details of the story but don't affect the overall outcome, and with certain choices Jack will end up doing the other choice anyway. Still, overall this is a good visual novel, with an engaging story and (especially with part 1 ending on a cliffhanger) I'm looking forward to part 2.

So this is free to play now, but it didn't start out free. I only paid .51 cents on a Steam sale (normal price $3.99 USD), so I don't feel ripped off. It's a nice Visual Novel, with nice artwork & okay music. However, it is a bit too short at under 50 minutes, so I guess it's good it went free to play but that just means it was way overpriced originally. The characters are not well developed. It's got a zombie virus outbreak story that is pretty cliche at this point. It ends just as the VN was starting to get good. Honestly, The Walking Dead: The Game by TellTale Games is a much better rendition. This isn't bad though, especially since it's now free to play. The writing isn't great either so far though, just barely good enough really. The artwork is really the best part of this game. Rate 6/10. It's free now, but ends on a cliffhanger to get you to buy the DLC.

A generally well-written and otherwise quite atmospherically-executed visual novel. Sure, there's some blatant typos, and slight imperfections with the audio...but all in all, it's a fairly promising start to a projected series. Not too sure about the price, though, as this will only take over an hour to play if you're an especially slow reader. That said, 100%-ing the Achievements will take a wee bit longer, so there's some added value right there for those inclined towards such things. If you're up for a solidly-told horror tale, and dig the art style you see on the Store page, it's doubtful you'll be disappointed. I do, however, hope that future instalments are free for existing owners, or at least a tad cheaper than this first instalment, as this is bound to become an expensive hobby otherwise... Verdict: 7.5/10. If you've enjoyed The Walking Dead by Telltale games, then this little gem is a "MUST BUY" in my eyes! The story and drama will immediately suck you into it and have you feeling emotions, sorrow, guilt, and sadness. I love the story so far, I read it aloud on my Youtube channel in my LiveSteam under the Moonshine series (episodes #211 and #212). Before you just go search those up though, I highly recommend that you buy this and experience it for yourself first! This is well worth the money and more affordable than a single episode of the Walking Dead would cost if you purchased a full season at regular price. NOTE: Unlike The Walking Dead, you'll need to read this yourself, much more like a visual novel. However this allows you to take it at your own pace and imagine more than a story that gives you everything on a silver platter. Reading yourself can help you imagine things much more vividly than having it handed to you via actors on tv or voice actors. I love it and so far I'd give "Perseverance" a very strong 9 out of 10. ...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
