Do not underestimate this game just because it's made with RPG Maker. The storytelling of this game is INSANE and I mean it. Even manga version didn't gave the same vibe this game had given to me. Love it. I'll definitely be looking forward to Kanawo next game!

I saw that Noel got a complete edition with the DLCs for free and realized I never wrote a review for this wonderful game with its super charming cast of characters and interesting story.
Gameplay is very limited. The game is tagged as RPG and Adventure but you are going to be reading most of the time. Not that I mind, the story is just that good.
I got all the DLCs months ago and it was worth the price. Now that the complete edition has them for free I don't see any reason why you shouldn't buy this.

First of all sorry if my English is bad. I played this game when the complete edition is released and I do really enjoy every aspect of this game whether the gameplay, story, and the music.
The gameplay for me personally need a little bit of adjustment, I think because this is my first time playing game with this kind of gameplay and overtime I'm starting used to and it was fun. The story was so good that I can only say "WOW". The music was so good, especially in the earlier season (it was really banger BGM) and I also enjoy the rest of the BGM too until the end of the season.
I'm sorry if maybe it was not help anyone, but this truly my experience while playing this game. Thank you and have fun.

Given the big overhaul update that happened here, and the reviews coming in, now feels as good a time as any to write how i feel about this whole thing.
Noel the Mortal Fate was a series that released episodically, and was made over the course of several years by one developer. At some point, a publisher got involved to port the project to consoles and such. That publisher isn't listed anywhere on this store page anymore, so I can only assume *something* fell through. So, for a long time we were in this frustrating position where new seasons were releasing on Steam as DLC, meanwhile the BETTER versions of seasons 1-7 were rotting away on consoles with no support coming.
So... here we are. With the Complete Edition update, all of the updates to S1-7 were brought to the Steam release, and the whole thing was repackaged under a single $15 purchase rather than the... roughly $40(?) I paid for the whole story years ago by now. The question is... do I care?
Like-- no. Not really. I'm actually mostly happy. Some communication would have been nice, but I have seriously been complaining about the situation regarding this game's previously console-exclusive content for ages now. Things drop in price all the time, so this doesn't bother me. Frankly I'm just happy that anyone who wants to play this in the future doesn't have to scratch their heads over what version to play and what all that DLC was for. This is cleaner, and this is a story worth going through. It's fun, shounen craziness and I appreciate that sort of stuff sometimes. Game has heart, and I'm just happy it can put its best foot forward now.
Now if you don't touch up seasons 8+ (I don't truly expect it), at least patch up the translations because they're rough early on.

I bought all the DLC less than two months ago, and now all of it has been bundled into the base game for free as part of the new Complete Edition update on July 10. Since it’s been over 14 days, I’m not eligible for a refund so I ended up paying for content that's now given away at no extra cost.
What makes it bad is the complete lack of communication. The announcement of the Complete Edition update was made just over a week before release, despite the DLCs being sold separately for years. They were still promoting and discounting the DLCs during the recent Summer Sale and promoting them here on Steam and social media just weeks before the release while fully knowing this update was coming.
It's hard not to see this as deceptive. This wasn't a surprise decision, they had clearly been working on this version for a while, yet gave no heads-up to let customers make an informed decision.
This situation reflects poor communication and disregard for recent buyers. If you're thinking about buying something from this developer or publisher, be cautious because they've shown they won’t communicate important changes. I wouldn't have a problem if they communicated this well ahead but the way they handled this was wrong.

This is a pretty great game with an entertaining story that's only going to be better with the new complete edition including some much needed Quality of Life changes to the first 7 seasons, especially since the gameplay is by far the weakest aspect of the first 7 or so seasons — outside of the season 6, which was just gambling BS (as a compliment). Some people aren't happy with the complete edition including all the previously available season 8 - Final DLC. But, coming from someone who did buy the original game and DLC, there's honestly no harm in everyone receiving these improvements; besides, having to buy DLC just to play the rest of the story isn't really a friendly long-term model when all the seasons have been out for at least two years. It's quite literally a free upgrade at no additional cost, and it's well worth the admission price either way.

I started playing this around the time the chapter 9 DLC dropped (I think), and now that the game is in its completed version, and a flood of negative reviews have been coming in from butt-hurt people about having all the DLCs they paid extra for being free now, I thought it'd be a good time to give a POSITIVE review to try to skew the game back toward the "overwhelmingly positive" rating it had until like two days ago.
Full disclosure: because of the clear narrative division between chapters 7 & 8, based off of the DLC descriptions before I bought the base game, I thought chapter 8 began a sequel series. The main reason I bought it at all was under the assumption that the base game was its own complete series, and I could skip all the DLCs if I wanted to. This obviously proved incorrect, but I absolutely don't regret playing any part of this game. The story is SO GOOD, to the extent that Noel has lived rent-free in my brain for years now. I've only played it all the way through once, but with the "complete" version released, I'll probably play it again soon! (Especially since it has an updated translation. By chapter 10, the English became less good, though frankly I appreciated the faster turnaround on the Western releases, ending just a few months behind the Japanese by the final chapter. My monolingual ass literally tried using the Japanese host website by the last chapter due to impatience because the game is just THAT GOOD.)
All that being said: I spent double the base game price (if not more) paying for the last 6 chapter DLCs, and instead of frustration over the fact that I paid so much, I'm just glad that potential new players can play the full game for half the cost. If I had known how much of an investment I'd put into this, I maybe wouldn't have ever purchased it to begin with. Now, I'm thankful that hesitant people like me might finally be drawn to the world of Laplace without any financial concern.
Don't be sad because it's over. Be glad because it happened. (*sobs*)

Some people are angry because the DLC content is free now, but it also came with a major update to the first half of the game and making the price more accessible for newcomers. I do hope however that the latter half of the game gets an overhaul as well.
