Super Destronaut DX Reviews
Inspired by an arcade classic, Super Destronaut DX is retro space shooter that pits you against an enemy more dreaded than a UFO, a scoreboard.

Its simple and fun to play. The extra modes are always a welcome bonus in shoot-em-up games. This is exactly the type of game where I wish there were dozens or even hundreds more achievements to keep having a goal to go for, with the different modes, (time trial, challenges, hardcore, classic) would benefit from that a ton. Still a pretty damn fun game though.

Almost looks like an asset flip, but actually a really playable Space Invaders clone that is perfect to kill five minutes.

Bought for just two quarters, which is pretty much the same as one session on an arcade machine. And it definitely felt like one. Quick, simple, and fun. Just like an arcade game. 5/5

It is surprisingly addictive and entertaining. Found myself playing beyond the needed amount of time for the platinum on the PS4. There has been some issues with the game on the Steam version in regards to aspect ratio in windowed mode, but an overall entertaining while.

A simple but fun Space Invaders clone. The lack of controller support is jarring (not to mention lazy), but thankfully I could easily make/upload my own controller config, so don't worry about the lack of "official" support.
$5 may be pushing it, but it's well worth it if you can get it on sale (I got it for 50 cents).

Pick it up on sale. Go into Options, and turn off screen shake and chromatic aberration.
Now enjoy a decent Space Invaders-like with a lot of quick challenges. And a few that will take you some retries. Keep at it, though. Even if you never really "git gud" at it, the randomness of the patterns and weapon spawns means the game will eventually just serve up the Tootsie Roll center of the Tootsie Pop.
Verdict - Seven waves out of ten. There are better iterations on the Space Invaders model, but this is a fun time.

Simple yet addictive. Played it a bunch on the Vita, and it's still a fun little distraction on the Steam Deck. It was fun to goof around with friends over and see who could get a better high score/last the longest as we passed the controller around. Grab it on sale (usually hits for about a dollar), and you won't regret it.

Great addictive space invaders clone. Got on sale for 39p. Wouldn't mind paying £2.00 for it. Got all the achievements in 30 minutes - they are pointless, the highscore system is not. This is in many ways better than many of those other space invaders clones that retail at much higher. Space invaders dx or something.
Edit: Space invaders extreme.

This is an extremely lazy port.
Once the game is installed you are shown the default Unity launcher screen, without even an image to fill the large vacant rectangle at the top of the launcher. Not impressed so far but decided to soldier on.
After beginning the game, I notice you cannot use the d-pad to play, only the analogue stick? Poor design choice as d-pads have greater fidelity which is why I always use them for this type of game. Anyhoo, I try to exit the game, clearly again, not designed for PC when you need things like exit game buttons. They did however shoehorn in Esc for exit in a very half-baked BOOM, game gone kind of way.
So, I’m back at the unfinished default launcher. I click on the button config tab to configure the controls and discover that each in game action has multiple assignments for the same action. I figure out which one is for the controller and change the d-pad to being my control choice. Did I mention that for some strange reason the Y button is fire by default? And there is a button named fire, as-well-as buttons for fire1, fire2, fire3. So, do I even need fire 1, 2, 3? Or just fire. Or is fire obsolete? And not fire1, fire2, and fire3? Oh, and there is a jump button. Now, I only played this game for ten minutes, mostly in the launcher, so maybe you can jump in this spaceship shooter. I have my doubts.
It really is just a last minute, “Hey, PC gaming is a thing lets make some money from those losers”, kind of game.
Here’s a funny thing. After I changed the controls, up was down and down was up on the menu, haha. No way to rectify this either. Hilarious.
I might take my refund and throw it in a pond so that it doesn’t feel like such a waste.
