Solenars Edge Heroes Reviews

Solenars Edge Heroes is the arena mode from Solenars Edge Rebirth stretched out into a full game, which makes it a bit more interesting because you start from scratch and thus the low-level arena fights are actually appropriate, but the stretching out with over 60 characters mostly lets you assemble a team of the hardest-hitting characters and kill everything in one round, making it somehow even more boring than the arena mode was in the base game. The earlier complaints I had about Solenars Edge mostly apply, but even harder - ten characters instead of eight, and basic attacks that hit 16 or more times, rendering most skills useless, except now almost everyone in your party will have that level of attack, still a bunch of minigames that are entirely pointless... well, the giant, poorly-drawn maps are less of an issue, as most of this game happens on a single map. On the bright side, at least there wasn't any boring grinding-down of permanently-stunned foes, since you can basically one-turn everything in Heroes. Still, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - there's no story at all, and everything goes down much the same way to dozens of attacks from each of your characters. Just play the original Solenars Edge Rebirth, or better yet, avoid the entire thing.

An RPG Maker game that is anything but average, aiming to please all fans of the RPG Genre, but being a special treat to fans of the classic JRPG. I highly reccomend this game! Tons of battles to fight, multiple character races, many classes to choose, and a HUGE selection of heroes to hire into your party. What's even more, is that, as of May 23rd, 2018, the devolpers have added more content into the game through an update! This is one of the few games on Steam I have purchased at full price, and is, in my opinion, very much worth it. Thank you Team Syukino! I'll definitely be checking out Solenars Edge Rebirth. P.S. : I'd love to see more content added to this game in the future!

Solenars Edge Heroes is a game where your aim is to rise through the ranks of the Arena in order to become Alcornagia's greatest Hero in Solenars Edge Heroes. Upon starting the game you area presented with a menu where you can choose between 1 of 3 playable characters, once you have chosen your desired character you are then presented with the option to choose a class for your character there is arround 44 different character classes to select and each come with various perks to them. For my first playthrough I chose Angeko and chose the Assassin Class. The character selection menu is very clean and easy to navigate without much difficulty at all. Once you have selected your character you are then able to choose a companion to fight along side you, each companion uses different weapons and attack styles and also has a different role such as a healer or a tank. Later on in the game you are also able to add other companions to your party to aid you in defeating every level within the arena. Similar to Restoration which is another game by the same developer, this game has a 90's RPG esque feel to it much like the classic Pokemon games, however this game in my opinion has been improved on much more in terms of menu systems and user friendliness. The controll scheme is very simple and easy to use with the arrow keys being used to control your character and the enter keys used to interact with other NPC's and objects throughout the game. The game does not really feature a very deep story at all, instead you are simply tasked with beating all of the challenges within the arena, these challenges begin very easy and become more and more difficult as you progress through the levels, during my playthrough I skipped to the final battle to see how hard it really was and me and my companion were defeated instantly so you are going to need to work through the lower levels and earn money through winning fights in order to upgrade your gear before you take on the difficult fights later on in the arena. The game features a very nice tranquil sound track through out its menu systems and in game, once in a battle the music shifts into a more up beat tune which really adds to the battle, the game itself features no voice acting and is simply text dialogue. The animations for characters and NPC's are very simplistic but smooth which is what you can expect for this genre of game. Overall I really liked this game and I will be continuing to play it untill I have managed to defeat every level of the arena with each different character and class available to use. This game has huge replay value due to the sheer number of character and classes that area available to use as well as the number of different items you can use no play through will be the same so you will need to use different strategies depending on what character you have chosen as well as when items and companion you have decided to use for your playthrough. Overall I would give this game a 8/10 what is present in the game is very fun to play and the challenege of beating every level of the arena is also very fun. Everything this game set out to do it did in amazing fashion.
