There's another top down train puzzle game that's 10 times better than this game for 5 times the price. It's called Mini Metro.

I thought it's some kind mini metro style game but no. It's mobile puzzle game. I don't want to spend my life to play mobile games on PC. Also, I personally don't like 3 star score system or something. And really? I cannot speed up?

This game is interesting enough, (I have played Columbia and Venezuela so far). The puzzles are hard enough to make me think how to do them optimally, but not so hard that I fail and get annoyed. The game has a mix of puzzles, so you aren't doing the same thing over and over, at least not so far. The graphics are fine, the sound effects are appropriate. Overall so far I am enjoying the game, and for the price it is good value for the money. It probably suffers a little in my mind because of all the other Train puzzle games out there that I have played, but once you remember they are far more expensive, this game is actually better and more fun than you should expect for the price. Overall well worth the cost, and if you like train based games, or just decent puzzle games it is worth giving it a go. Video of the Columbia scenario. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuqVUY7bL_E One complaint. This game needs a title screen, there is nothing to indicate the game name once you start it!

it is a nice little casual game, there are different rules on different levels that force you to adapt to new circumstances, but at the same time somehow it is not much fun to play I love train-themed games, but this one is just too clinical and there is only one best solution to the level, so just not my cup of tea I guess

Ride to Canada was kind of boring for the first 90 minutes, but I think it can be very enjoyable if you have the patience to understand its appeal. The game has a long tutorial phase so it takes awhile for the challenge to start. I personally found it very fun to grind the leaderboard; finding the best route could take a lot of attempts and experimenting. There are 5 locations with multiple stages, each one has its own leaderboard. Unfortunately, the score potential is very limited, as there are only so many correct paths for each map (I expect to see some identical scores eventually). The game does a good job of mixing up mechanics, there are plenty of different tools that will completely change the gameplay. I don't know about that soundtrack though, sounds like some western rock. Not exactly something that I want to hear when playing a relaxing puzzle game. The soundtrack in the trailer was so good, what happened to that relaxing music? I would really like the ability to change the OST , otherwise I would have to mute it. It looks fine, I can't really complain at this price anyway. The UI is very simple but it does its job well. For the most part the puzzle design and difficulty progression was good. I have not had any technical problems so far.
Pros:
+ competent tutorial + lots of content at a good price + many different mechanics + supports leaderboards + puzzles can be very fun and challenging
Cons:
- I personally hate the soundtrack in this game. Somewhat subjective I suppose - it probably could use some basic achievements, for progression and all Overall Thoughts 7/10 I initially hated this game but I slowly learned to appreciate its dynamic elements. It has many puzzles to solve and several leaderboards to grind. Obviously don't buy it if you hate difficult puzzles, it is more of a brain game than a train game. Good price for what it offers if you into this genre.
Review By: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/31294838-Hidden-Gem-Discovery/
Pretty easy to pick up, but surprisingly hard to master. The game has 20 cities, which are broken down into 5 levels each, 4 are puzzle levels that rate you based on time taken. There seems to be 1 ideal solution for each level, and the time is allotted for 3 stars for exactly that(you'll finish with <1s left). The 5th level in each stage is a run-out-the-clock score attack stage, and plays differently because of it. In the puzzle levels, you can make a single path to achieve your goal(s) and the level ends, but in the final levels, you need to score as much as you can without wrecking for an extended period of time. The puzzle stages vary from deliver color-matched cargo to color-matched station in any order, deliver color-matched cars to stations where only the last car is delivered(by means of removal from the train), and from the screenshots, at least one other puzzle-icon-indicator I haven't encountered yet in game. The game starts rather simple with just one train and only stations, but progressively adds elements to enhance the challenge. More trains for you to have to score with, additional trains that don't need to be solved, but just block/collide with you, tracks that break after a use, tunnels, direction-sensitive paint booths. The paint booths change the color of your cars depending on the way it's going, and can sometimes be stacked to require one car to be painted multiple times to be delivered. The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible. I personally find the score-attack stages to be the hardest, the chaos of managing several trains for an extended period leads to collisions for me. Despite the difficulty, they're still fun to play, as it's a new type of puzzle. Each time I felt I really had mastered the elements, something new was introduced to keep it fresh and keep challenging me. While the tracks are fixed, the nature of the game reminds me of Train Valley with the aesthetic of Mini Metro. I would definitely say it's enjoyable on the same level as those games. At time of review, I'm 102 minutes into the game, and have completed 7/20 cities. I bought on sale, but would highly recommend it even at the full price of $2, it's a great value for the game you get.
