Guarantee there is no other game that feels more like a chore than a game. Everything is just so plain. I really can't find a better way to put it.

gave the game a shot a few times. really couldnt get into the whole time trial aspect, you get to spend maybe 2:30 on a floor. meaning getting all the resources is more of a race then anything else, somthing that usually doesnt feel great in VR, and this is no exception. i was expecting a bit more of a puzzle experience or just a chill mining game. TLDR: not a fan of time trials. rushing in VR doenst feel good.

Its a fine little game here, but unfortunately the controls are terrible. Whoever mapped them to the Index did a terrible job. The only way to grab items are not to use the convent trigger button, which goes unused, but to squeeze incredibly hard on the controls that your hands hurt. It desperately needs an option to rebind controls.

Let me begin by stating my first experience with this title was on PSVR and throughly enjoyed it, The game's mechanics and physics are a thing of beauty and the comedy is fun and highly enjoyable with it's dark tongue in cheek humor. This is a very calming and entertaining experience that will have you running back for more!

Despite all the times I felt sick after playing. (Due to lack of VR experience) I still found the game exciting, as it was the VR game I was looking for. As the name suggests, you mine, but that is not all. For those who want to play, get ready for a decent amount of exploration and endings. I had lots of fun, and recommend it to anyone looking for a casual mining and exploration experience. If that is what you are looking for, I believe you will like it. My only gripe with the game is that you have to purchase the 2D version of the game separately from the VR game. Otherwise, Would recommend!

This game does not get the credit it deserves because people don't play it long enough experience the game for what it is. Cave Digger Is a fucking MASTERPIECE its an adventure game in which take on the role of a treasure hunter BUT most people don't really get to the adventure part which is why they don't have as good of an experience. The game starts with just an elevator you go down and break some rocks for money its very simple but if you go outside there is a wall of upgrades one of which is a lever, That lever repairs the train which you use to unlock the full experience. you go from cave to cave and each cave is in a new completely unique biome. I played it a lot on my playstation then In got a headset for my pc but this game is one of my favorites ever and I highly recommend it to anyone

The game itself can be repetitive, and it isn't extremely apparent that you can buy a train to expand the game world, and mine in new areas. Beyond its issues, its still decently fun, and I would personally recommend it if you're looking for a new vr game.

I'm suprised this game has such negitive reviews. Sure, there's a lot of grinding, it's its a game about mining in an elevator shaft after all.

Update (3/2/2022): Decides to give it a chance and keep going. Noticed alot of issues in this game lately. Suggestion(s): Need to update a lot of things including options where the player is standing on a spot or can walk around. Need to update the uhhh treasure chest pet, they were oblivious and wouldn't see any crystals/gems/artifacts laying on the floor until i pick one of them up and suddenly it gobbles all of it up. Need to improve the issues with explosions/Dynamite sticks. Every time i try to pick up the box/crate, i immediately ends up picking ONE of the sticks, instead of ACTUAL box itself. Plus it WILL not stay on train. once the train moves, it just yeets itself out into the abyss and commits... Dynamite-icide? Definitely need an option to remove the "gauntlet" glove off. That and i actually missed the chance to grab the modern, newish upgrade gloves when it was on market. Don't know if it'll cycle back and pop up again. (Just upgraded the train lvl 1 and then the saloon lvl 1.) Need to improve the actual player's playspace. Every time i shifts my weight, i ends up getting stuck inside treasure chest pet's model until i had to move around to free myself. that also includes; stones/rock in way, abandoned pallets laying around, and so forth And DEFINITELY need to update the actual inventory belt issues. Otherwise it's starting to feel like it's Deep Rock Galactic but in VR with a Train. and an apparently living treasure chest that follows you around. spent 45 minutes on this, since it was on sale and it was like 2 bucks. I needed a game to troubleshoot my VR setup, i really didn't cared what kind but i saw this and was like "why not, it might be a very short game, probably what i needed" and gave it a shot while troubleshooting my VR issues. (not game's fault, BTW!! just my hardware setup) Immediately got launched into middle of it. The bulb is ridiculously bright in the elevator. Had to look away, only to realize there was some kind of instruction and eventually i realized i needed to pick the pickaxe up. Ends up trying my best to mine around when I can. With valve index controllers, yeah I immediately knew it was for Oculus/Vive controllers. Really do not want to grip my index controllers in order to grip on any tools. I have ridiculously strong grips but i seriously don't want to break my controllers. Tried to look around for anything like an button or whatever that have "settings/options" so i can adjust the settings. To my disappointment, there was nowhere to see it. (either that or i did not see it clearly when it could be right in front of me) Definitely not Deaf friendly. (Deaf gamer here btw) so i had no idea what was going on. I assumed the P.A. or radio or whatever is just talking above but i absolutely have zero idea what it's saying due of no subtitles/captions. Pros: short and pretty good game for 2 bucks. Cons: -Is not compatiable with index controllers. need strong arms and hands to keep an consistent grip. -Terrible controller setup/layout. Had to use "A" button to grip each tool to get around, but each time i need to move around (i'm in stand-around mode in VR layout) i had to DROP the pickaxe constantly so i use joysticks to get around. (i'm aware there's belt around my waist but they are in the way very often) -No subtitles to understand what's going on. -Literally launched me into middle of it without any tutorial or get any understanding of how things work at first. Really way to go to make myself feel alone in middle of ghost town. I explored and wandered around a bit but there seems to be limited to certain objectives. Haven't checked the train yet. Will update this whenever i can.
