Absolute banger classic. I want more "organic sandbox" games.

An old game, but still very fun. You play as a god, and your actions each era as well as the order of the actions you take changes what happens as well as what actions you can take in the next era, with a checklist at the end of each playthrough to show what you have and haven't done, and it's fun to see what different combinations do. The Steam version (the original was freeware IIRC from early childhood) adds a Boardwalk Mode, which is the normal mode but with cute board game graphics, and Warfare Mode, which is something like tower defense between the two civilizations you watch over as god in the normal mode. My only complaints are that the Website links in the game not just no longer work, but open up in Internet Explorer even on Windows 11, where that browser has been disabled for users.

I remember playing the original version of this back on YoYoGames. The nostalgia definitely is there. Plus, now I get to try the new game modes I never did before. It's still a fun clever puzzle with some silly and interesting ideas. Worth it!
DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review
The Sandbox of God is a game developed and published by Vertigo Gaming, the same person behind the Cook, Serve, Delicious series The game offers some really nice graphics and a nice yet simplistic aesthetic which is pleasant all the same and has some amazing attention to detail even though it is a little rough around the edges The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nonetheless and ends just at the right time The Sandbox of God overall, however, is an okay game to play, yet sometimes repetitive and it does get boring if being played for a long time, but is an okay strategy game to play in short bursts!
RECOMMENDED :)
REVIEW SOURCES:

None

Unfortunetly, the game doesn't play the music and sound files properly for me, only integrated sounds were fine, e.g. getting points *ding*. My only guess is that this game has compability issues with newer OS (I run on Win10 Pro). Compability mode didn't solve it. With this, I gave up, requested a refund and leaving now this negative review. I may be the one of the few, but unless a remaster of a remaster is done, I believe this game will soon run it's course.

There ought to be a sideways thumb. Not bad, not good. It's essentially an animated, illustrated flowchart. If you can get it for less than a buck, it's a quick diversion.

This is now one of my favorite games to play when I am bored. It has simple game play but it is fun trying to mess with everything to get 100% of everything on the checklist. You should play this game because its cheap and its worth the money if you like simple flash games.

I want to love this game. But the fact that a primary aspect of the game is blue text on a blue background makes it hard. And then you've got the glitches, where text just decides to stay put and makes it so you really can't read anything.

This game is just a major nostalgia hit for me. Almost 2 decades ago i started playing this and i only just managed to find this as it was on my steam queue. I remember playing this for weeks at a time trying to complete all the objectives. The idea of the game is to do things in cdifferent orders to find new combinations of ruling the world as God himself. It's a short but entertaining game, however it does only seem to run win Windows 95 compatibility mode for me. Worth giving it a go, especially when on sale.
