Haven't played much but not super impressed. This would have been impressive in the first gen of VR but it's too basic and clunky. I have VTOL and it's much better.

I've given this game a little bit of play after waiting for it's release for a while. Graphically it's pretty good. Controls are decent. It's fun to play and fly around it. It has room for improvement but I like it. I don't play a lot of VR games but I've been having a lot of fun with this. The missions are fun and I see it going somewhere for people who like airplane games. Game- 8/10 Graphics- 8.5/10 Controls- 7/10

Very simple to use flight sim with combat. Not to complex with controls and excessive buttons, however, the controls are not very responsive when trying to control landing gear and switches, I could not even identify if it had rudder controls. Missions and area boring and repetitive. Brought it on special, so for price I could not complain for what I got. Only spent an hour on it and got bored. Better options out there (VTOL).

Very unrealistic - max about like 9/60 interactive instruments Broken Joystick Texture So far the closest to 1:1 realistic cockpits for the F/A 18 is VTOL VR however it does not have as realistic textures, however it does have every instrument in the cockpit interactive and gives tutorials teaching you how to startup, land, takeoff, combat, I highly recommend it

The game looks promising, but when I try to begin a flight, I am unable to move past the blue circle part. Kind of disappointed, but maybe its just my system.

A few quirks (which is to be expected of a pre-release) but I found it to be very immersive and fun! I was playing the game seated a few meters back from my desk and everything worked great. The first tutorial popup of the game tells you to press the right thumb-stick button to reset the VR view. I found that lowering my graphics settings in the main menu gave me a silky smooth frame rate ( using a GTX 1070 ). I hope the developers continue to improve this over time. The game has a lot of promise!

SImilar issues to the other review. View is impossibly far away and drags quite a bit on my system. While I certainly don't have the newest possible rig, it's enough to play any other game VR or not that I want to play including Fallout 4 VR with no lag. If you really want the game, then buy it now for the 25% off from retail and wait 8-12 weeks and hope the developer actually finishes the game but almost all of us can point to at least one game where taking the risk means the game never getting finished. Otherwise, I'd wait. For my part, I'm considering my $20 lost. Also, no native HTC Support. They are talking about a port in 4+ weeks but that's around the time of full release when they will be working on trying to work out the bugs for release.. and being just a port means it will never run as well as on Oculus... so if you have HTC might want to hold off until well after release to see if it's even worth your time.

Of all the flight sims I've played, which goes back to Commodore 64... this one has potential to be great. VR controls are a bit wonky.. but that aside game play is good... the graphics aren't horrible (with time I'm sure that could improve). so overall its a good game that just needs some polishing up on a few things (that i noticed so far). I get making games like this in VR is difficult to do so I'm not ripping on the devs over it, instead offer constructive criticism. I do like the game and hope to see it become more.

This review is my initial thought of the EARLY ACCESS game. I have played the tutorial missions and two main missions. I can see where this game wants to be and commend them Devs for their application of game physics. However, there are some improvements that need to be made (see later). Unfortunatly, in it's current state, this game is very simplistic in terms of everything, expect the stick/throttle controls. In it's current state it is not worth the money, but with improvements it has such high potential!! Which is why I bought it early to suggest improvements from a consumer's point of view. DEVs, please take my critism constructively because this game has serious potential and I am so excited to see what you guys do! I have read people have had some issues with the seating location in the cockpit - I have NOT had this problem at all! Suggested Improvements: 1) Add rudder control, maybe the use of the joystick left/right could do? This will help for fine tuning the carrier approach. Please also add function to the FLAP controls, no flight sim is complete without them. 2) You really need to have a missile locking system, tone or even just a square box that highlights the targetoin the HUD (assuming it's not there as I can't see the HUD clealy - my next point). 3) I am not sure if there is an altimeter/airspeed indicator because I really can't see much on the HUD at the front of the aircraft, in the Oculus (it may be the resolution of the oculus, I'm not sure), but the DEVs could make the green lines/number bolder/thicker/deeper in colour for the HUD to aid this. If there is not an altimeter/ASI please add one. 4) There are a lot switches/buttons not in use, maybe they could become in use for something? I'm not a pilot but this is a Sim game so I don't know how relevent they are. 5) In the distant future, when this game has pretty much finished developement, multiplayer would be AMAZING! Co-Op missions, dogfights and freeflight would be the cherry on top - but I realise this is very far in the distance. I'm sure you guys are working on some of these points already but, just in case, it is worth mentioning them. I will comment on any other things I see, for you. Good luck!

I'm a pilot, but not in the military. I did get a chance once to fly a Marine Corp FA-18 simulator. If you want about 2 hours of fun with this for $20, you will be satisfied. However, if you want a realistic flight simulator, this isn't it. While I did like the ability to flip switches and start the engine, systems, etc.. The hud display was not very readable. I could lean in close and see the speed was around 100kts (120 mph) and that looked right when flying near the island. The altimeter was a jumble of numbers, not legible. Of course F-18s typically fly in the 400kts+ realm. I don't know what aircraft profile the developer used but I'll tell you this, it isn't an F-18. The roll rate is ridiculously slow, like a T6 Texan. Try to do an aileron roll and see what happens. Even in full burners, you can't do vertical very long before the aircraft stalls. The air to air (air combat maneuvering) enemy aircraft/targets move in up to 90 degree turns physically impossible, which detracts from the fun of trying to get in behind them in the WEZ (weapons engagement zone). head to head engagements are usually to enter the merge and then a turning fight. Not here, forget that, when you get the red target box fire a missile. The enemy F-18s maneuver pretty well with their gear down, whats up with that? 90 degree turns and wacky moves. Even the DC3's make sharp turns. It was wild being able to turn your head while maneuvering and have unobstructed visibilty , VR is great. The training missions were good. It required you to make a couple of ethical decisions, which I thought demonstrated maturity. I do hope more development takes place, this could be really fun if some realistic physics for the flying aircraft were improved. An aiming gun cross that calculates bullet path, a flight path marker that shows where the aircraft is heading with power and pitch. Also a readable airspeed and altitude on the HUD. The dream would be the old (micro prose) Falcon 4.0 in VR
