what an incredible gem !! i seriously cannot believe that this hasn't got more reviews.
incredibly funny with some good jump scares and twists to the plot. short and to the point - it doesn't overstay its welcome. some may wince at the price, but i'm an adult and i have some money for leisure. this game earned it.
there is a little jank to some of the interactions - for example, if you pick up items before you need them, you'll still need to exit the room where you're tasked to find them and come back - but this small bump in the road aside, i cannot speak highly enough of this game.
the voice acting is spot-on. it's humorous without really feeling like it's trying too hard. there's a natural sense of B-horror movie schlock that is popularly sought but rarely delivered upon, and it absolutely lands here.
since it came out in 2018, i can only imagine it flew under the radar before the streaming boom of the 2020s, but i hope it gets more attention - it absolutely deserves its place in the classics of cheesy horror story games.
please, please, please buy this game, support these developers, and have a good time. i know i did :3

You know what? Oddly enough. I like this game! I've played a lot of horror games...a lot. I'm pretty critical of horror games and believe in crafting a truly scary experience and even though this game doesn't look like much, it's got it where it counts!
No spoilers!
Good:
-Story as a whole is a bit flimsy, but it's enough to kinda keep you engaged. There's things that don't make a ton of sense here and there like classic horror movies. Like the main character doesn't want to leave when she thinks she's in danger because she left her ID in the hotel. Right.
-Jumpscares are done very well! I was thinking the game was going to be cake considering it doesn't look like much and oh boy was I wrong. It got me a few times. It's not overused just shrilly loud audio which is great!
-The humor. This may be a bit unintentional, but man it's hilarious to see some ridiculous animations, people's reactions and or thought processes. It's like "The Room" where it's so bad it actually lifts the spirits a bit so technically it's good?
-The voice acting is no joke pretty solid. The main characters especially are really natural sounding and the audio is good! Nothing's worse than a super crackly mic with no pop filter or when it sounds like someone is just reading a script. I was pleasantly surprised!
Bad
-The graphics are very laughable. I don't want to be rude, but this game is almost limited by it's assets? Technically that gives it it's humor as well, but you have to know what kind of game you're getting into.
-Animations are super awkward and stiff. The game bypasses a lot of this by just having the screen fade for a moment and the character disappears.
-It's super short. It's like 1-2 hours tops. I will tell you though, if you're a streamer and looking to sit back and have a laugh with a side of scares it's a nice bite sized chunk.

I've just finished playing this, beat the whole game in an hour. What can I say about "The Eerie Inn"... well it was competent in some parts and laughably bad in other parts. This is a narrative-driven horror walking simulator. You find the key and unlock the door, find the code and unlock the safe and unravel the mystery of "The Eerie Inn". There is voice acting, it sounds like an episode of South Park. It's hilarious and I honestly enjoyed it, it was sub par but it was better than reading notes or on screen text the whole time. The atmosphere does get a bit creepy and there are some well placed spooks and jump scares but nothing impressive or unique really. There is an okay twist and some decent writing but the main characters make some incredibly poor choices, I mean there really stupid. Also where are these people backpacking? Across a desert? Why wouldn't you pack a tent or something? I don't know just seems silly to me.
THE CONTROLS are freakin' bizarre. You can't move forward while looking down, if you can see your character's body then you can't move in any direction. It's because they didn't want to design walking animation, almost 100% sure of that. Also you can't sprint and that's annoying, I'm sorry but when you can't sprint in a horror game you lose points from me. I don't want to slowly walk around looking for stuff and back tracking... it's not fun.
The lighting in this game is bad. My character had black hair at the start and then had dirty blonde hair all of a sudden. My character's friend had shadowy black legs while laying in bed. My character had no head while in first person, just a white circle above her neck. I'd say it's a bad design choice but whatever it didn't really effect anything.
Final thoughts! "The Eerie Inn" has a cheesy B-movie charm to it and I kind of liked it for that. There were cut scenes , voice acting and a story, which is more than your average indie horror game. That said wouldn't recommend this game and if I was going to recommend it, wait for a sale because $5 is not worth it. The controls are not ideal and the story is not anywhere good enough to sell it on that. Which is all it really is other than key collecting and very minor puzzle solving.

I really enjoyed this game. Kind of had an old school feel to it. The story is interesting, the ending was a bit of a surprise, but the main characthers friend is massively annoying. All she does is complain (And dosen't help you at all!! (Which is probably for the best because she does not seem overly bright either lol))
Anyway, I give this one a thumbs up. Feel free to check out my walkthrough below:

Game took me 80 Minutes to beat, it scared the shit outta me, made me laugh, got me hella confused, bit annoyed and welp... semi interested into the story. It has a nice little story which I won't talk about but I can say that it's quite easily predictable.
Pros:
- short little game for small price (even tho 5 Euro could b 2 much for some people)
- scary game, sometimes predictable jumpscares with loud af noise but they worked on me
- nice voice actors (except skinny and fat baldie lol)
- nice little puzzles which were quite easy to solve, if you were lookin around the house (except the safe section)
- good performance, no crashes (duh, imagine fps drops with such game)
Contra:
- clunky movement
- unfortunate camera placement during 'cutscenes'
- jumpscares r way tooooo loud at times
- predictable (yet nice little) story
- very short game (60-80 minutes if you r as slow and scared as me)
- NO SETTINGS?
Neutral:
- funny, slow, clunky character animations (got me laughing a lot, thx for that)
- simplistic low budget graphics but I didnt care about that, otherwise I would've not bought the game

You should not pay anymore than 1$ for this. You can beat the game in like 50 mins.

This game took me a little over an hour to beat. It does have a few puzzles. The safe one was the hardest for me and it had a good story line with jumps in it. Great job! 8/10

I feel like I just guest starred in a B-Movie!!
This mystery horror had more cheese than McDonalds but, just like that fast-food moneypit, The Eerie Inn takes you by the hand and throws a whole lot of craziness at you so instead of getting a healthy snack you end up overindulging in a whole lot of bad stuff but you can't help but love it!!
The plot is voice-acted with Nintendo-64 style graphics and a few hair-raising jumpscares thrown in the mix for giggles ohh and the sound effects & music helped the atmosphere along too.
The controls are your typical UNITY keys : WASD, ESC for menu and left mouse for interactions, there's a Save option available anytime throughout the game but no options for settings. It features 4 achievements that are easily unlocked as the story progresses and it shouldn't take more than an hour or so to complete so ignore my playtime I got carried away chatting!
Would I recommend this? Hmmm...well if you're out for a bit of fun in a short time and aren't looking for the next Resident Evil quality wise then you will probably get a cheap thrill from this but if you are a hardcore Horror fan who takes their gaming seriously then give this a miss.

Picture me, a young, handsome & funny young man looking for a questionable indie horror game to play for the laughs.
I see a game called "The Eerie Inn" and what appears to be a trailer with graphics that look as though they were cut straight out of a low budget Christian CG movie and i'm thinking to myself "THIS is it. THIS is the one"
I load the game up to find there are seemingly no options for changing the resolution or grafix & so I was a little upset as my high end ultra super gaming build could not make the most of the experience, I decided to press on.
At first the game seemed quirky, with the two main characters "Kisknee and Jen" hiking down a long road to nowhere, it is then the trucker, phil. reveals himself and tells you to stay at the "Eerie Inn".
From here on out it plays like the horror classics we've all come to know and love.
Silent Hill, Resident Evil & Outlast.
This game has clearly taken inspiration from the best and it's definitely a student surpasses the master moment we are seeing here folks.
The gameplay can be a little SLOW, but don't worry the intense jumpscares and atmosphere will keep your heart beating FAST.
The story will leave you craving more, just one more note, just one more little bit of information, just one last trip around the entire house trying to find the items you need.
The game features puzzles.
The safe one got me for a little bit, but there's only so long you can prolong the progress of a seasoned horror game veteran such as myself.
The story-
Don't even get me started on the story.
Genius. Amazing. Ivigorating. Three words I could use to describe the story, but im not going to use those 3 words, instead im just going to use 1 word.
PERFECTION.
God of War? Death Stranding? Kingdom Hearts 3?
Step out the way there's a new GOTY in town.
