Dead End Job Reviews
Dead End Job sends you into a madcap, Ren & Stimpy-esque world to bust up ghosts. It’s a procedurally generated, couch co-op, twin-stick shooter that straps a vacuum pack to your back and puts a plasma blaster in your hand. For you, it’s just another day in the office.

I bought this game not expecting as much fun as I did.
The color palette is amazon, dynamic is great. It's awesome!!
I will be playing a lot more during this time of quarantine! :)

If you are looking to blow off a bit of steam, then this game will give you that. Entertaining and fun in short bursts, but it can get boring if you play longer stretches.
And, the art style, as many pointed out already, gives a pleasant 90's zany cartoon vibe.

Ok, finally beat it...I think if I understood things more it may have happened faster. I dig the gameplay. I only played single player. I think the explanations on items are in code...I mean come on...item descriptions are so vague. Some items don't even do anything...then their worth after the level was a joke. Maybe that is what they were going for...Maybe I am too serious. Overall things were repetitive but I enjoyed it...nice colors and sometimes I got hit by what I don't know...health was pretty abundant. Hint: make the vac stronger. I totally recommend if you like the dungeon never know what your walking into but excited to shoot things. Also I used the steam controller the whole time. Use your items people!!! I bought it on sale :)
However there are still enemies I have not seen yet; so maybe I didn't beat it. Who knows with these types of games. Plain simple fun.

The levels are in tight spaces crammed full of environmental objects that obstruct shooting the ghosts and then explode next to you, giving damage. It's not difficult in a fun way, just frustrating.

While the game can be a fun little rogue-like, losing literally everything by dying to something you cannot see is not fun. And the upgrade system is vague. Some "upgrades" will actively destroy your run. Try it for a dollar but skip it otherwise.

At a time when the new Ghostbuster game has not yet been released, and is only being developed, we bring to your attention a small indie substitute!
A game in which you will again visit the body of an incompetent ghost hunter! We are waiting for a lot of jokes and Easter eggs, a variety of ghosts (which you can rename and give them the names of your colleagues or friends at work), pumping your character by passing levels, a lot of technological and dangerous items!
Pros:

+ Lots of humor

+ Nice hand-drawn graphics

+ New games + (Furnished like a time loop!)

+ Tons of achievements

+ Gamepad support

+ Steam link support

+ Generated levels
Minuses:

- The game is quite short

- To get all the achievements you need to complete the game 5-6 times >_<
An excellent indie project that has turned from a serious and scary layout into a bright and fun action game. The game is perfect for both adults and children!
I recommend to buy!

It was okay but there are much better games of this type to play. The coop isn't very good. The second player can jump in and out taking the form of the Beryl the ghost. She doesn't do anything other than fly around and shoot goo that seems to slow the enemy ghosts a fraction. The cartoons are quirky and I liked the intro music. I requested a refund however, I don't feel i'll play this much.

Why is it said to be couch co op when player two is VERY useless, all player two can do is knock back the ghosts. I bought this game thinking this will be an awesome couch co op I could play with my husband only to feel like I was the younger sibling playing with an unplugged controller. As a first player game it probably wouldn't be too bad but as a couch co op heck no! Your player two will not have as much fun as you are having. As player two you can knock back ghosts but, you cant stun them or vacuum them up. You kinda just get in player ones way and end up in their vacuum a lot. I can't recommend this game as a good couch co op. If player two was more of a support character like say they could heal player one or something they would be more helpful.

I bought this to play local co-op but it was just awful. The second player can only shoot goo that doesn't even affect the ghosts and actually hinders the main players movement. Seriously? WTF? If both players were controlled the same way first player is, it would be fun, but as is adding the second player made the game unplayable.

Dead End Job is a roguelike/roguelite shooter game in which you play as a ghost hunter.
There's not an awful lot of narrative to the game, but there are plenty of different ghost types (which get progressively harder as the game goes on), booster items, and skills to unlock as you level up.
It's a pretty hard game, and took me one playthrough of a few hours to get the hang of it, and the second playthrough to actually beat the game.
The music is monotonous and becomes annoying after a while, but the visual aesthetics and colour scheme are pleasing to the eye - as many have said, they are inspired by John K of Ren and Stimpy fame.
It's a fun little game, worth a play if you like roguelikes.
