I'm encountering a consistent issue with the game. I closed the game mid-puzzle and that was that. I can't move forward nor back. I'm just stuck with an unfinished puzzle I can't even re-open. I hope this bug is fixed in the game. It's such a waste. I was enjoying the purchase, too, but this has made me quit this game altogether.

Should you play?
☑ You should play this game if you are a fan of Les Misérables. The game presents a lot of curiosities about the novel and its author, Victor Hugo).
Should you avoid?
☑ No reasons to avoid, unless you don't like puzzles or hidden objects challenges.
The beauty of it:
☑ Beautiful art and soundtrack.
Improvements I would suggest:
☐ Voice acting. Sadly, the game is text only, no voice.

I have a lot of things to say about this game.
First of all, the way the characters are drawn is an absolute eyesore. It looks like the artstyle you'd see in a clickbaity ad for some crappy app-store game, which is not great for a game that costs actual money, even if not a lot. The backgrounds, on the other hand, are nicely done.
Secondly, there are some inaccuracies I've noticed; here, Valjean adopts Cosette in 1826, which is three years after it's supposed to happen in the book. Furthermore, Cosette meeting Gavroche for the first time makes no sense, as he is a Thénardier. She would/should have already known him already. The two appear to be closer in age than they are supposed to be. It is also a bit disappointing that Éponine was elluded to but never actually appears nor is mentioned again after the intro.
Now, onto the actual game. The puzzles and mini-games were quite fun but some of the objects were atrociously hard to find. There HAVE been better point and click puzzle games, though I am not too familiar with this genre, so I can't comment on this too much. One misstep, however, can cause the game to be completely halted and being forced to start a new safe file, with all progess going to waste; after accidentally exiting out of the butterfly mini-game, I had to restart my game.
The "Did you know" files were fun little eastereggs and probably the best part about the entire game. It is obvious that a bunch of effort went into the making of this game but I can't reccommend this, neither to fans of Les Mis, nor to those unfamiliar with it. The story is not gripping enough for non-fans to get invested in, so the "plot twist" will likely not interest them, in addition to some of the "Did you know"s spoilering it. Fans will also find that this game is not immersive at all and offers very little actual entertainment value.

I could say the developer should be fanatic of Les Miserables and Hugo, it got many details and bios on both within this game. About this game is better compare with it's sister "Les Miserables Jean Val-Jean". The music is much better and puzzle is in more varieties. The difficulty is somewhat between challenging and annoying, however it's a video game about Les Miserables which is rare to see, recommended.

A game adaptation of the most famous novel of Victor Hugo - "Les Miserables". It is a classical Casual adventure with some puzzles and hidden object elements. A nice choice for all quest players... Did you know?

Beautiful artwork, but hidden objects are not for older eyesight. Well-hidden and tiny objects are invisible to my eyes. Lovely Victorian-era story, pleasant and relaxing to play. Unfortunately, I was interrupted constantly throughout the game play and played in minute-long snatches. Play this when you can enjoy the atmosphere, story and music.
Hint system: I would have liked it better if it would have hi-lighted the correct path or item instead of saying, "find smelling salts", because by the time I use the hint system, I've already run out of ideas of what to do.
Sometimes I had to leave a room and return to it to activate an active area.

Takes only ca. 2h, the ending is too sudden and unsatisfactory, and there are no Steam achievements...
HO scenes are fairly difficult, which was nice, and the music was ok... they could have done so much more with the story.
4/10.

a Pure HOG with a lot of backtracking and fact about "Les Misérables".
pros.
not bad of a story as it based on Les Misérables.
lot of information about Les Misérables
ok graphics.
cons
lots of backtracking
very short (around 1 and half hour for the main story)
no bonus story
no voice over
repetitive HOG every HO scene is used multiple times
very easy puzzles.
overall i did enjoy all the lore about Les Misérables, but it just wasn't enough to have fun with the game. it was short and quite boring.
