Aladin & the Enchanted Lamp is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a paid product. It's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The game is a simple Aladdin themed hidden object puzzle game with a lame, badly translated French adaptation of the story tacked onto the front. It's a lazy, broken mess.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game only displays in a 4:3 aspect ratio, making me wonder what a terrible time mobile peasants must have had trying to play this on their iPhones.
The game features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/flash games. While the artwork itself, while mediocre, might be considered passable, the visual presentation here is negligible, it might as well be a slideshow or a Youtube video. Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids had more advanced animation and visuals going on than this game does.
The implementation here is of such poor quality, the developer couldn't work out how to make the game display in fullscreen properly. There's a fullscreen mode, but this doesn't work properly, it just seizes your screen and then displays the game in a small part of the top left of your monitor. It's evident no testing was done for this game on modern PCs, but then again, this is a mobile app, so what do we expect?
Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. That's right, only 4. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason.
Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $2 USD, on app stores, it's free. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this can be played free elsewhere, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Who do they think we are?

Engaging hidden object adventure game with unique alterations to the Aladdin tale that make an old story new (Though, I say this only knowing the Disney adaptation, hehe). Casual hidden object gameplay with a few slightly more difficult puzzles that you can skip if you can't solve them after a set time.
It is just the sort of hidden object game I like, as it is predominantly made up of searching scenes for specific items. I enjoyed this title and finished the whole thing in about two hours. Surprised that there aren't more positive reviews, but I guess even good games like this aren't going to be everybody's cup of tea.

Despite a few people saying its boring in the reviews, I actually quite liked it.
Good game if you just want to chill and relax for a few hours.
Not that challenging (unless you do timed mode, and then its like 'HOLY SHIT THIS IS FAST!!! on some of levels) but has a good little storyline to it.
I'm recommending cause I feel like this game could do with some love.

The game has very nice artistic design but it is very simple. It offers few puzzles and the hidden object mini games are quite easy and repetitive. I have the impression that it was originally developed for android.
At least the price is low and for those who like the Tales of the Arabian Nights might give a try. It is a short game. The best aspect of this game is the design of the environment.
I would recommend it only if you have a kid with whom you can play this game. My daughter (5 years old) played and enjoyed. She was able to find all hidden objects. I only offered some help in the puzzles, of course.
There are several games with hidden objects and puzzles that are more challenging than this game.

Just a fun and relaxing game. Nice music with nice graphics. The story is entertaining. The hidden objects are varied and not very difficult or frustrating. There are a few puzzle games which are fairly easy.

Having enjoyed the developer's Alice In Wonderland game, I guess I went into this game expecting much better. There was sooo much clicking arrows back and then back again and back again and then sideward just to get to a previous location so you can do one simple task...only to return to another previous location. And the thing is it WALKED you through every single baby step of the way, with the exception of the mini games. Plenty of hint opportunities, which is a downside in this game because, well, there reduces the challenge even more. I wanted to like this game but even at the extremely cheap sale price, I feel like I wasted my time. When you finish a game feeling relieved it's over with a scowl on your face instead of feeling accomplished and in a good mood...that about sums it up. Perhaps good for a child.

Aladin & the Enchanted Lamp was more fun than I thought it would be. Some hidden object games are very boring. This one is rather short. It's more like a slightly interactive story in which you need to find items to move the story forward. The story in this case is obviously a retelling of the Ala' Al-Din and the Magic Lamp story found in Alf Layla Wa Layla (1001 Nights) stories (well, in Galland's translation... and those based on his translation anyways).
The story has been modified from the original story line. Like many Western tellings it ignores the original story taking place in China and instead sets it in a fictional non-specific Arabland. There are some generic Middle East, North Africa, Ancient Egyptian things in the game. Much of the game is highly orientalized and sterotypical in it's depictions of Arabs/Muslims. Like many orientalist type games it uses the name Iblees for the Djinn (despite the fact that Iblees is the name of Satan / Shaitan before he was kicked out of heaven for arrogance and disobedience to God. The princess is dressed in stereotypical harem girl (I Dream of Jeannie style) clothes despite such clothing not being befitting of a royal princess nor historically even close to accurate. The rest of the story is an interesting new take on the story with some unexpected twists on the story which make for an interesting retelling.
The music and sound is okay. Not the best I've heard but not overly annoying. The graphics are decent. I don't think they would win any awards but their not bad. The hidden object scenes are nice and do depict probably a fair representation of a generic desert-y Middle Eastern non-specific Arabland.
The dialogue is a little weird and inconsistent but understandable. For example the Title is Aladin and the in-game dialogue uses Aladdin. Besides that there's some odd usage of words or strange grammar from time to time.
Aside from the hidden object portions of the game there are some other mini-games throughout which are fairly easy but mildly entertaining. Most are a matching puzzle piece type game but there's also a match three type game and a sliding block game. I logged just under 3 hours of playtime according to steam but I did leave the game open on my laptop while I went out to grab dinner so I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's probably more like 1 hour of play from start to finish.
If you like hidden object games or are looking for a more casual game to fill an hour or less then I would recommend this game. If you are looking for something that will provide many hours of play or really challenge you this probably isn't going to be what you're looking for.

Thumbs down. This was disappointing on several levels. This game was apparently written in French and only half-heartedly translated into English. It’s not hard to follow the story, but the hidden object scenes really need proper translations. It’s bad enough that “ice” was used instead of ice cream in one hidden object list, but some words weren’t translated at all. In a different list, the French word “arc” was used instead of the English word bow. (Not a ribbon, but bow as in bow and arrow. Arc is related to the word archery.)
In addition to the poor translation, the gameplay is limited to hidden object scenes with a few mini-games thrown in. The point and click adventure part consists mainly of moving through different rooms without doing anything other than clicking on the exit arrow to get to the next room. Not exactly a lot of fun.

Aladin & the Enchanted Lamp reincarnates the famous tale of a thousand and one nights in a short point and click with hidden objects and its sacred relics in the arabias of the starry night.
