highly addicting game spent 10 hours so far and everytime i play the same scenario it can have a different outcome. I do like the combination of resources and politics also i like the market side of it with stocks and bonds and the ability to buy off the competetors

Hi, back again. This map of Mexico in my opinion is the best yet. I have tried with AI players and find them over the top on there conversation, so usually play on my own. I have found this more relaxing and less strain on me grey cells. The layout and cities are as you would expect, correct , this makes it more interesting to navigate the hills and vallie's of this part of the world. Having bandits and such is fine for this country, but have to put up with the AI chatter. Over all this map is good and the tasks seem to correspond .

Mexico and the Americas are realy good gets your brain working i have found though hours of playing this great game however there is still room for improvements like in the Mexican game there could be some extra Mexican charaters to choose from, instead of building bridges over exsiting tracks which can cost alot have daimond flat train crossings controlled by signals. Also what is realy fustrating is a farm wants to be connected and then doesn`t give your train any goods. Also game speed could be slowed slightly.

Only adds 1 new scenario which can be finished in a few hours. Really fun and well made but not worth the full price imo. Wait for a sale

This add on felt pretty easy in some ways but very fun. The terrain lent itself to use of a lot of 1-way flows in my play throughs to stop tight areas from becoming congestion points.

Mexico DLC offers ● Viva Mexico scenario ● Few new free mode and sandbox options ● New resources to transfer and manufacture ● Night mode This does not sound like much and really it isn't, it is mainly cosmetic stuff except for the scenario. Viva mexico which is more difficult and elaborate than those in the basic game and it gave me a good few more hours of entertainment. At the first sight I thought it is just an overpriced DLC that adds very little compared to its pricetag, but surprisingly I am satisfied with the result. If you truly enjoyed the base game this is a nice-to-have extension.

The DLC for Mexico was fun and the one scenario was long, though I felt the cost was high. There was no campaign, the Hints section wasn't updated to reflect which newer comodities were considered food for the refrigerated car, and again, there was only one scenario.

If you enjoyed the Railroad Tycoon series this game will not disapoint. Some of the track building can be tricky, but has been made easier with a few of the latest patches. My cheif complaint is that even with the Mexico DLC I have been unable to play in free or sandbox modes and have access to the US and Mexico in a game. Adding the ability to expand your railroad empire throughout both cvounties would make the game even more enjoyable then it is now. This game is worth picking up.

This is a rather nice piece of DLC. Mexico is an interesting and somewhat challenging new map, with even a few changes to products to better fit the Mexican theme, and while the two new locos don't change much, night mode is very atmospheric, with low light, trains' headlights and city lights. It's especially fun to watch it from the locomotive view. My only criticism is that I would like to be able to choose Mexican theme for random maps, but it's more of a "nice to have" thing, not especially important. (And a minot nitpick: I find it strange that it is corn that gets replaced by coffee - if anything, Corn should be an absolute staple in a Mexican setting.)

Hello Fello Engineers! I was not sure if I should write a review about this game or not. Most Dev's ignore most of what you say anyway...but these folks gotten a reputation for listening. First let me say I have been playing these kind of train sims for a long time now...I first started with a game call Rail Baron and that was on floopy disk and in a big box and in DOS format. I have owned and played extensively every Railroad Tycoon game, 1,2, and 3 and wore them out if one can. So I have been playing these kinds of games a long time. As to Railway Empire... I looked at it when it was just a beta game and got interested but wanted to wait and see where their hearts were in the game before I bought it. Finally I could not hold back anymore and purchased it during the steam summer sale and the dlc that goes with it. I have been playing this now for almost three days straight with just some sleep time causing my wife to think about a bit on the side. So with all of that said here is my review of the game. I have to say when I first started playing I was concerned about the light switches as that seemed to be the thing most people had a problem with. But for me after starting the first scenario of the campaign game, I found them to actually be quite easy to work with and it turned out they were no problem at all to operate. They work like a charm. You place them after you build your track and just decide which side of the track you want your trains to use and place your lights accordingly...easy peasy. What attracted me most to this game at first was the graphic artwork. I personally create 3d Trains for various projects I play with. So I know the work that goes into them to get them to look nice. These guys did a very good job. As in RT3, that is what most people are familiar with, they progress to newer trains as you pay your research points to discover them so you can switch your trains to the newer models and you can do that with the click of a couple buttons, which is nice. The AI, well it could use a little work. The AI characters will let say start in Atlanta and before you know it they have laid some carnival design track clear past chicago and further north just for a couple fields like corn or wheat or logs to transport back to Atlanta when there were plenty of what was needed around Atlanta. It boogles the mind. I really don't find the AI a challenge what so ever. They are more of a nusciance then a computer player. I tend to just buy all their stock and take over their company and sell the mess they make off. So the AI could stand quite a bit of adjustment if you are a solo player like myself. I dont know if you can play multiplayer or not. If not that would be a nice upgrade to the game and give it a whole new world of gameplay. I would definately play a multiplayer game if I could as that would take this game to a whole different level of Engineering. I am not saying this game is not good because it is...It is fun to play and I enjoy it. But the developers want a great game that would be hard for any other company to come out with and beat, the suggestions I am making is what you can do. It all comes down to how much heart the developers have for the game. Another suggestion I have is regarding resources. There is just too few of them especially as the years advance. Some of those resources should be reworked as well. Freight was big business for trains back in the day. They did not lay track for passengers even though that is what was said. They were built to haul freight back and forth accross the country more so then people. In this game freight that a train can haul is determined by the size of the city and much of the ores you can't haul until a city has grown large. I find that a bit rediculous because how are you building trains and track...lol.. not with wood logs. Something I found interesting would be if a town could grow up around a resource that is being shipped away or used. Almost all cities out west grew up that way and in the East too. I do realize that resources are being shipped via horse and wagon before a train comes along but the distances are just too great per town. Hence my next suggestion would be to at least double the amount of resources on the map or at least make towns grow around these resources as well. That could be done based on amounts shipped and so on. Overall the game is nice and I enjoy playing it even though I don't find it very challenging. With that said it is worth the money I paid for it. It is not worth $50.00 or pounds as I paid in. But it is worth the Steam sale price. If they could make the game a bit more of a challenge then I can see it being worth the 50.00 and more. I do like the fact that I can buy business or factories and add those to my game portfolio and build upon those companies to make them grow and make more money for my railroad company. That adds a nice depth to the game. Again the AI is more of a irritant then a challenge. But just buy them out and sell off their assets and bobs your uncle. Compared to RT3 the game is better in some ways and not as good in others...so about even. SM Railroads...lol. There is no comparison. SM Railroads was a joke and a waste of my money. This game as it is you can enjoy it. So if you are thinking of buying it during the Steam sale...do so. You wont regret it. It's worth the sale price. With all that said it's time for me to go lay some track. I do recommend the game.
