30 Seconds to Jail, otherwise known as ‘Door-answering-etiquette-based-dystopia simulator’, is a simple but creative ‘collect the endings’-type point-and-click game. You are Nameless Dirtbag, who, after getting a special delivery of nondescript “drugs” from the guy featured on the neighborhood watch signs, must hide his contraband before the cops manage to turn off their body cameras and rough you up a bit. Decent challenges. Odd controls. The challenges are mostly click around and see what happens. Some of the "puzzles" are pretty hard to figure out by accident. However. It says over 20 endings. There's more like 12 or so that are actually in the game. Worth the price if you have nothing to do or want to see your friends confused when they play it.

30 seconds to jail is a puzzle game. As a warning, the game contains self-harm, drug use and other stuff, so just keep that in mind. While this game is not too far, it is really short. You do have a lot more than 30 seconds to plan your way to hide the drugs from the stranger, but once you open the door, the clock is on. The game lacks clarity and explanations, there are some endings that pretty much needs a guide to understand (especially the stranger one.) The art style and overall game is pretty well made, but yeah, it's short and lacks content and clarity. Overall, not worth $5, but on sale it's a cool 30 minutes long experience.

It's a pretty simple game with a very unique idea. You can probably get all endings within an hour or two (especially if you read the guide). I honestly don't know how much you can expect from a game like this.

It's just a single level with disappointing/nonsensical choices. This would be better as an itch.io free release instead of a paid game.

30 Seconds To Jail would be more enjoyable if the UI was better. When you hover the mouse there is no indication of anything, so you will end up clicking on every single object until somethings happens. There are several notable glitches, sometimes the menus won't close or the ending won't trigger properly. The worst part is the click detection; you have to be extremely precise when placing objects, it is so bad that I missed a puzzle several times (even though I knew the solution). For such as simple game, it is not exactly polished. Not to mention a complete lack of settings. I got most of the achievements in just 60 minutes which are tied to different endings. Entire game takes place in a single house so there is not a lot of content; you probably won't get more than 2 hour of gameplay here. To be honest, the jokes were slightly amusing at best. Some of the solutions are pretty stupid, good thing the trailer spoiled some of them (sarcasm). It was hard to apply any kind of logic so I had to figure it out based on achievement names. The game does not even live up to its "30 second" concept, as you can use a lot more than that if you just don't answer the door. Pros: + slightly amusing jokes, which is also subjective (The pixel art here is average and serviceable, that is not exactly a selling point) Cons: - no settings - poor user interface - occasional glitches - pretty short
Overall Thoughts 4/10
A simple game like this one needs to be more polished. At the very least, add a description so you can see what character can interact with. The click detection is pretty awful, you have to be close to a correct place in order to place something, then you have to click into a very small hitbox. The game is not exactly hilarious and only got a few giggles out of me.
