A neat and humorous little game/concept that would totally be worthwhile, but despite being EA there's no sign that it's actually being worked on. Wouldn't recommend it unless you're game for ~1 hour of playing and then probably dropping it.

Everything works as it should. Game has loads of potential and game dev seems interested in developing it further. I hope they do, it's a fun take on city builder sims they have going on.

Don't Pray to Satan feels more like a concept than a proper game. Although it has quite a lot of room to expand, with various interesting mechanics or new systems to be implemented, the game as it is doesn't have enough content to justify a recommendation. And while this normally is not an issue for Early Access games, the developers for the game have not provided any roadmaps or updates since its initial release.

There's some interesting stuff here. I'd love to see more of it. But it's SO. DANG. SLOW. I spent minutes at a time waiting around for the 'zen' currency to build up enough to even do anything. There's an expensive item that increases zen production, but just the thought of waiting long enough to save up the cost made me bored. There's nothing to do but stalk your citizens looking for satanists while waiting, and that gets old pretty fast. I'm seriously stunned that there's no fast forward setting.

I purchased this game a few months ago, and didn't get around to playing it until today. I was honestly to see that it was still in Early Access, because it really does play like a finished game.
The gameplay itself is pretty fun, and is based around a concept that isn't very complicated. The player, as God, has a list of powers to keep the citizens of this small town from visiting the huge satanic temple in the middle of the city. It seems like a really difficult task in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it is is really fun, and requires a bit of strategic thinking.
Also, take the time to read what the townspeople have to say, the jobs they hold, and even what their names are. In my first city Ethan Klein held the position of "Guy no one likes" at the local ISP. I really appreciate when the dev's take time to add funny little antics like that into a game (even if that was purely a coincidence, the fact that it was even possible is awesome).
This game has a really solid foundation, and loads of potential, and I would highly recommend it!
I would, on the one hand, make a few suggestions:
[olist]
[*]A "Save Game" feature would be nice, and allow for more features that made the game a little longer than just an hour or so
[*]Some sort of pushback from the satanists. As it is, the only real satanic influence come from people walking past the temple and the occasional upside-down cross. It would add some interesting dynamic if the Zealot did nefarious things during the day, instead of just running the black mass. Also, I converted the zealot into a vessel, and that pretty much marked the end for the satanists.
[*]A way to win the game. As of right now, you can only lose the game when the Hell Gate is complete, but there is no way to win the game. Once you get your satanist percentage down to 0, there really isn't much to do. If you spam fountains around town, there won't be much return of satanism ever. Not that the game should end at 0% satanism, but I do think there should be a "you win" type of feature
[/olist]
Those are truly my only complaints, as this truly is a fantastic game. 10/10

Updated since patch.
My second first impressions.
The dev fixed my issues with the camera pretty quickly to their credit, there is a functional guide to the games dynamics, buildings and units on the main menu now and the game does appear to be a potentially interesting strategy game unlike other god themed games.
I have updated my video to address the elements I got wrong and also comment on a few other aspects I had yet to fully understand.
Thanks to the devs for replying it made the experience of playing the game a lot less confusing.

My first impressions are mixed but leaning towards interested, with no real clue as to what you are supposed to do (see dev reply below) so far without a tutorial or guide you have a sandbox town and limited abilites with which you must try and prevent your citizens descent to satanism.
The game might rely on humour a little too much at this time but the concept is still interesting and I look forwards to seeing where this goes.
Here's a little video of my third attempt and some of the games features.

Was fun while it lasted but beat in less than 45 minutes :/ I feel like it needs more continuous content to progress. I realize it's still in Early Access so I'm hoping they add more things, but as of now it is refunded.

Aww I really wanted to like this game but the mechanics kind of suck :(
- Instructions are kind of bland
Forgot if there was a way to speed up time (there isn't) went into the instructions which is in the start menu, unhappily saw there was no time options at all, tried to go back to my game session, game session restarted :( New town, new everything, all my work wasted (all that time sitting waiting for something to happen, and purifying shit) UGH.
- Art style is simple but not ugly, fits the simulation style its going for, very run of the mill though
- 'Zen' growth and accumulation is very slow, and to get it to where you have a mechanism that creates it, takes ages!
Really wanted to like this game, but for the price, and what's available for game play, I just can't, I can't recommend it either :(

Game is very easy to follow once you know what to do. I got my Satanists down to 0% and have held it there.. but not much happens in the game after doing so. After the initial wave of "negative" influencers are taken care of its pretty easy to keep them down. So...currently trying to turn everyone into a priest.
Would be a neat addition if Satanists tried to convert your priests, totems and sanctuaries.
Only real negative comment I have to say is that the Hell Gate is a bit too sensitive.

It says early access, but there is no sign that the developer is working on the game or even has any intention of working on it. Do not buy it. Its not worth the money.
