This is a cool game and concept. I wish I could import my own music.

Chop It is a fresh take on the VR rythm genre. It is distinguished by its style (Eastern Dojo with 'Fro Sensei), and by how you play (chopping through wood blocks and punching through cinderblocks that can be thrown towards 11 destination all in front of you).
It has a small campaign to play through. Unfortunately, part of the campaign I don't like is having to turn when playing medium and hard difficulties. Turning is unwieldy due to wire management, and how when you turn, you may find yourself no longer in the position to hit the blocks easily and will have to adjust your position again to do so. The game doesn't allow you to turn this off in the options.
The part of this game that makes it superior to others in the market is its custom beat mapper. You can use a browser based beat mapper that is very intuitive and quite easy to use. You simply tap notes in as the song plays. The custom beatmapper lets you slow down the track to really get accurate with your tapping. And then you can edit the notes after you tap them in. This allows for beatmaps on tracks that have variable tempos, which is something competitors still can't quite do (or if they claim they can, it's often difficult and convoluted). So if you're like me and you want to create some fun rythm maps for your own original tunes or for whatever you have, then I would recommend giving this game and its beat mapper a try.

Great fun. It's super satisfying chopping stuff and breaking bricks with your fists!

Very fun game. Especially compared to other rhythm games that are 2x or 3x price. I have tons of games that I've put dozens of hours into and never reviewed or gave a thumbs down. I'm recommending this game with less than 30 minutes of play time. That says something about Chop it! I'm actually ashamed that I haven't played it more.
It's got everything that gamers want.
1) Simple to learn but skill based mechanics.
2) Cool aesthetics.
3) Developer that listens to feedback.
4) Auto generated beatmaps and a built in beat editor unlike other VR rhythm games.
5) Cheap price.
6) Funny developer.
7)) No shitty Youtube personality promoters.

Got the HTC Vive headset and this is one of the first few games I tried. Very fun and seems easy for first time users to get the hang of quickly.
Graphics are good and seems to run fine on a GTX1070
Personally, I enjoy the music. I think it is possible to upload your own tracks to chop to but I have yet to try it.
Overall definitely worth the price and seems to be updated and devs care about the product. RECOMMENDED

I have a few problems with the gameplay:
- you have to keep looking up, which hurts after a short while. I would prefer it if the master would stand lower so that the planks and blocks don't follow such a high path
- the "campaign" consists of multiple chapters, but you can immediatly chose any of them. It would be more fun to unlock a level when you reach a certain goal (e.g. number of points of the previous chapter).
There is one thing that is both a pro and con:
I didn't have to "chop" anything, just moving my arms in the right direction was enough.
The bad thing, is that it isn't realy challanging.
The good thing, its a relaxing way to get to a minimum amount of movement.
Overal: it could be a fun game to play once in a while, but I won't play it again as long as you have to keep looking upwards.

Game is missing it`s style and "Gold plating" on top of algorithms.
it`s comparable to plain wood chop-sticks, has no attractiveness for VR.
As a budget alternative to a movement VR game it does great, although for 2021+ worth buying something better.

Don't let the developer name fool you, this game is definitely worth "breaking your hands" over.
To be short, it's a great arm, shoulder, and torso workout, just need to be careful not to hit anything. You might "Chop It".
So, what's this game about?
You're a martial arts student and your sensei has decided the best way for you to learn is to throw every wood panel and cinderblock in the dojo at you, and have to chop and fist your way through them all at a beat. Pretty brutal sensei but whatever works, right?
Well, there's 3 difficulty settings, a small variety of songs to pick (and did I mention there is the option to import songs and make your own tracks to chop to?), and some other nice adjustments you can make to make your gameplay easier or more challenging. It definitely puts the work out on your body as the sensei will jump around the room to keep you on your toes.
If you liked Beat Saber then you'll probably like this as well.
