Memoir is a short, but pretty neat puzzle title. You will guide a deer-like child to solve puzzles by pushing each object to the right place. It starts out easy and straightforward, but it slowly introduces new mechanics to make later puzzles harder to solve. There's not much to say about the story because there is little to no context given in-game. Although, the peaceful music and environment sets the game's atmosphere rather nicely here. If you like puzzle games, definitely give it a shot.

Memoir is a decent puzzle game where you move objects in limited space, takes about 2-3 hours to beat. I am not a huge fan of this genre but the aesthetic caught my attention. I guess I was hoping for some enjoyable narrative. The ending was pretty interesting but the game did not have too much context in between. In terms of exploration, there are a couple of secrets which might add 1 extra hour. Otherwise, the game does not have as much variety as I expected. The environment could use more vibrant details, perhaps small animals and more backstory. While I enjoyed the experience overall, the game left a little bit of space for interpretation. I was not completely satisfied with the story (not sure if secrets will expand upon it). There are a couple of different mechanics that will increase the difficulty as you progress, but overall the game is not too hard. I pretty much have seen everything that Memoir has to offer in other games, so I won't give it extra praise for originality. Unfortunately, there are no options of any kind, although I did not really need any myself. At least Memoir has all of the basic functions that you would expect from this genre, which includes step reversal and quick restart. My favorite aspect of the game was the soundtrack; the ambient music and good choice of sound effects made the puzzles less stressful. It is not a bad looking game either, but I think the environment needed more exploration value.
Pros:
+ enjoyable atmosphere and artwork + interesting premise (mysterious plot) + gameplay is alright, a bit generic though + not too hard + has some secrets
Cons:
- lack of options - I would have liked more narrative and exploration value - the ending should not reset the game (I wanted to look for secrets first) Final Thoughts 7/10 I think developers left some opportunities on the table. Personally, I just wanted more areas to explore and more narrative to expand the story. I was intrigued by the mystery but it kind of left me with more questions. Memoir is somewhat average in my opinion, and you have to like this type of gameplay to enjoy it in a first place. The arwork and music are relatively enjoyable for only $5.
