Say what you want about Jar-Jar and Midichlorians but Episode 1 gave us STAR WARS(TM) Episode I Racer. I have fond memories of playing this in my friends basement on Nintendo 64 a quarter-century ago, maybe nostalgia is a factor here but I honestly think this is a pretty decent and original racing game. This being on PC isn't new because I remember playing it at some point in the 2000's but I'm glad to see they finally added it to Steam.
The game has a variety of pods to use, all the ones from the film I assume. As well as a good set of levels and an upgrade system that's nothing sophisticated but does add to the game. It's pretty good though if you don't have nostalgia for the game itself or at least for the first time you saw the podrace scene in episode one there not a huge reason to play this over other racing games. I think the full price of 10 USD might be a bit much its more of a 5 dollar game at this point.

without a doubt one of the best star wars games, and one of the best racing games. this port is garbage. you have to wade your way through an ocean of glitches and imprecise controls in order to play this game. get it on a different platform.

This game was my childhood. Sometimes i just fire it up and look at the title screen and it take me back to being a kid again and not being able to wait for my dad to finish working on his home computer so that i could fire this up and be transported to a galaxy far far away... <3
