The base story is the reason this franchise got so much renown, but personally, I love Requiem more. There is just something really appealing about the story of Jacopo & Morgana that puts it above the others for me. You might be worried that Requiem is kind of redundant when you already know the end results from the previous entry. I also usually feel less inclined to check out prequels due to not being that interested in going backwards instead of forward in a story. But in this case, I feel like knowing what's going to happen actually creates a really unique and somber atmosphere that makes this such a one of a kind, albeit quite depressing and melancholic experience. Requiem and the additional context it provides easily made both Jacopo and Morgana into some of my all time favorite fictional characters. After you finish it, make sure to also check out the Fragment story (from both PoVs!) to get at least some continuation from where the main story left off. It's short, but it's definitely one of the highlights of Fata Morgana. Also, feel free to check out Reincarnation if you can access it, the direct sequel that's not on Steam/PC. I don't think it's worth it when talking about the other 3 pairs of characters, but I can recommend it to anyone who wants to see an actual final conclusion to Morgana's and Jacopo's journey.
