You know those "LOL RANDOM!!!!!!! XD" one liners in erotic games like college kings etc? "NO I have no id-" Yes you do coomer. Anyway, imagine that one liner is more slapstick Japanese "humor" an stretched out over ten pages of dialogue. Then imagine everyone has Yugioh hair. Now imagine these happen one after the other, for 50 hours. Anddddd Wallah! You now have Muv Luv Extra. "But Steam Forums all agree I need it to enjoy the GOAT!" Weebs dude. Weebs.

If you're asking me to review Extra in a void, then it is painfully mediocre. however, it is incredibly important for setting the foundation of the story for the following sequels, Unlimited and Alternative. Which are both in my eyes (especially Alternative) amazing works of fiction and would give an 8 and 9 out of 10 respectively. Play them if you have the time.

I heard a lot of good things about the muv luv series and It was really good. Can't wait to try muv luv alternative.

Definitely a slow burner. I had a hard time getting into the game because extra(the first game) is a very cutesy dating sim. Even though it's not really my genre of games, all of the characters had interesting backstories and developpements and I actually completed all of the routes. In unlimited, I didn't like that Takeru was SUCH A LOSER in the first few episodes, but still an amazing game. I got immediately hooked on the plot of unlimited and i found it much more fun to go through than extra. Only complaint is that routes in unlimited aren't as diverse in storyline as extra, in unlimited theyre basically the same but just the character changes, in extra, they have interesting branching stories that explain better the characters. 8.5/10

Extra is a pain to get through if you don't enjoy slice of life, but man Unlimited was great
