I like puzzle games. The puzzles in this are either simplistic or not an actual puzzle. Many of the puzzles, I click a few times without even figuring out the goal and solve them. Then there are these puzzles that are not puzzles. You have two sets of spinning lights and some knobs that tweak one of the sets paths and you just have to adjust until it aligns with the other. There's no logic just infinite tweaking. The first few I clicked a few times and it just solved luckily then there was one where you have to get incredibly lucky to get. Forget this game. Also I notice some of the reviewers say they finished this game but some how global achievements say 0% have finished it.

I can find it that the game producer want to puzzle the players, but just for puzzle us,at least I still don't know what the story wants to tell us even when I finish all this game-few v-logs are the only proofs that this game has its background and story line.Similar and boring puzzles are the only things you can remember through the whole game.Even when you can not work out a puzzle, the AI will just skip it instead of giving you some tips.Well,a waste of money.

Futuristic MYST3-like in space. Puzzle game, and solely puzzle game, no reading, only video snippets and almost every puzzle type in the book. Well crafted atmosphere and a cliffhanger ending like no other I've seen in a long time, with a "to be continued 2018" tied to the tail. Originally made for touch devices, so the mouse-only control is a bit.. odd, but as there is no time pressure, it doesn't matter if you spend a few seconds catching the camera, other than the frustration it brings. If your brain is not up for the job, a handy help function is included in the game. It offers hints twice and third time you can use it to skip a puzzle. A highlight function is also present, and sorely needed, because despite traversing the world on predetermined nodes (like MYST3), the visual cues as to what is interactable and where you can move to next, is not up to par, sadly (looking at you, Chapter 5). As for story and puzzles... I'd rather not disclose anything, because a game this short and tight story telling-wise, everything I would say, is a spoiler. Just buy it, right? We need more good, wellcrafted puzzle games like this in the future (no pun intended...), and Fantastic, yes (ask the devs, ok?) definitely shows promise. (And I would like to know what happens after the cliffhanger...)

This game seems to have slipped through the cracks of marketing. I occasionally browse by 'puzzle' tag, or 'games similar to ...' , but I never saw it pop up. I only heard of it as I was by looking through a YouTuber's video playlist, and it looked great. And ... it certainly is great. So, review now: Returner 77 is a fairly linear point & click space adventure puzzle game. There's a decent story about post-invasion survival, you have to save the world, yada yada yada. Every area is full of puzzles, and they're ALL good. Many are familiar types from the hidden object adventure games (not the actual hidden object puzzles; the other mini-game puzzles), while there are others with some Myst-ish play and even some almost straight out of The Witness. Some are quite easy, some are medium-level, and a few are a bit tough, but one of the best things about the puzzles is that they're not spoon-fed to you. You have to tinker on some for a bit to figure out what's going on. I like that. Graphics and audio are EXCELLENT. I was reminded of the large cavernous spaces in The Solus Project, with lots of crystals and basalt formations. Voice-acting is well done, as well.

Returner 77 is a puzzle game in the same vein as “The Room” games originally release on iOS, and was, in fact, ported from mobile platforms. That said, the game was fairly fun. I enjoyed the sci-fi setting, though the environments weren’t all that varied. The puzzles were fairly easy overall, which was a bit disappointing, and some had frustrating mechanics that made working through them a chore. I actually ended up using the in-game auto-solving feature to just skip a couple of the more frustrating ones. The graphics and art are well done, though somewhat simplistic. The final area gives a sense of the large scale of the environment as you move around. The sound and music I didn’t notice much, and it’s used sparingly as well. The video clips that you find that lay out the storyline were a nice touch and added some incentive to keep moving forward. One other issue I experienced was that for some of the puzzles, getting the correct solution required waiting a few seconds before the completion animation would play. This resulted in me undoing some of the work because it seemed like the solution wasn’t reached. This does get better toward the end, though. Overall, the animations were well done and fit the puzzles, although some of them felt a bit slow. Overall, this is a fun, short game if you’re a fan of puzzle games, especially “The Room” style games. I would recommend getting it on sale, if you can, due to it's length, though the regular price is pretty good, as well.

This games has great sci-fi visuals (3D modeling, texturing, and animation) and some excellent puzzles so far, but the puzzles are more for the sake of puzzles than them being part of the story, which so far (20% of the way done), is not very detailed. Now ~30% of the way done: the story is being fleshed out better as one progresses. All Done. The puzzles are not hard, but sometimes you need to figure out the rules of the puzzle first. The storu could have been more detailed. I just played a puzzle game than had over 200 hard written pages of story. Yeah, video is better, but that story was more detailed than this one.

I have almost no memory of playing this game because I think I bought it on a whim and played it one night when I was very tired. Thinking of this game is mixed. Feels like a game I made up in a dream. Also my memory of the game seems like I watched a youtuber playthrough and thats why I have such an obscure memory of the game. The only evidence I have of me actually playing it is the "perfect" achievement score. Weird.

This not so known game is a little gem. It is an excellent puzzle game with about 6 hours of fun gameplay. The game has gorgeous graphics with beautiful environments and good-looking special effects and the game has a plentiful amount of good puzzles. Some of the puzzles are repeated several times in different configurations, often progressing into more difficult varieties. But there are plenty of different puzzle types in the game. The game feels like an Android game because of the controls. It felt like playing a game from the Room series or House of DaVinci. I happened to find that there is also an Android version of this game. Some other reviewers have said that the game is incomplete. I do not agree with that. The game feels like a complete game. There is 6 hours of intense puzzle solving with in between the puzzles many cut-scenes with animations and SFX. I did not get the feeling that the game was too short. A lot of things happen in those hours of gameplay. Also, the story, which was a bit vague, came to a conclusion at the end.

The game is incomplete! (at the time I wrote this, so check date). Game's store page oddly manages to omit this information, which imo is vital information affecting consumer's decision to purchase the product. I'm sure there are some laws for this... Now you get this information reading reviews. Puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles. And a very short vlog or two here and there to advance the sci-fi story before more puzzles. There are some straightforward ones (hardly worthy being called a puzzle), some that make you pause for a second and some that make you pay close attention, which action does what. It's mostly trying to turn/slide stuff to connect lines or get everything lit at the same time. You press this one and the next one rotates the opposite way while the opposite one rotates two steps etc. There isn't much else. A walking sim with puzzles. Game's story has only begun and is somewhat interesting so far. It's like like reading maybe the first ten pages of a 350 page sci-fi book. Currently the environment seems pretty random, made for the sake of puzzles rather than having some alien culture/tech theme going on. I am more interested in the story and atmosphere than the puzzles. I hope the story turns out good. Remains to be seen if the developers will deliver.

Would be decent entertainment value for $5. Great moody atmosphere and reasonable puzzles. Disappointed with the ending. I still had the alien heart in my inventory and it never provided a use for it. The game just abruptly ends and says "RETURN LATER IN 2018 TO COMPLETE YOUR MISSION." What the. Feel ripped off. Guess they ran out of funds.
