Game breaking bug in the beginning of game that I cannot find a fix for. The developer seems like they want the customers to beta test it in the discussions. Not interested. Refund requested.

God no, please don't buy this game. Just look at the trailer yourself, actually no, don't. The trailer makes this game seem better than it's worth. Shouldn't even be 30 dollars, more like 5.

Absolutely recommend getting it on sale. Now hear me out. If you really want to be a true horse game aficionado, you will have to endure a lot of bad games. It's unfortunately in the nature of this niche that low quality games are being sold for an undeserved price to basically rip off parents of mostly girls who want a pony (and got a video game instead). And I'm not saying this one is different, as it's obviously going in the same direction - which isn't an entirely bad thing, just the cashgrab part - but this game, well, if you're already entering with said expectations like me, I was honestly suprised to have a rather short, but genuinely fun time. Features: + a cool, rather large open world map with even some more "secret" places to explore + a main storyquest and a couple of sidequests that don't need to necessarily be completed in a certain order + character and horse customization (of course not Star Stable level, but actually a pretty decent assortment to choose from) + relatively nice graphics, you can tell this game was released in 2018 + a fun collectible quest that requires you to visit the mentioned "secret" places + a strong and independent woman (unironically) as the player character. I'd say in her friendliness and politeness she's a pretty good role model for younger children. ~ somewhat plain yet mildly likeable characters ~ the difficulty. The controls need time to get used to and even though I've been playing horse game for literally more than half of my life, I frequently failed the parcours. While this was a welcome challenge for me, it might be very frustrating for even more unskilled players. - Annoying voiceovers (at least in the german version). Absolutely couldn't stand the voices. - Criminally dreadful carriage quests that sometimes take like 20 minutes each and are just as boring as watching paint dry, BUT are unfortunately necessary to complete one of the achievements. - No replay value. Once you've completed the game with all the sidequests, there's literally nothing else to do. - An achievement that requires you to ride around on a horse ingame for 24 real hours, while the game takes around 8 to complete when you're not doing a speedrun. (why. why would you do this??) It's probably the last achievement that will prevent you from getting a 100%. - And last but definitely not least: the exorbitant regular price for not nearly as much content as it would have to include to be justified. So overall, if you're just looking for a fun one-time playthrough, that still feels like it has some difficulty and rewarding moments to it, then I'd recommend getting this game on sale. If you still haven't given up looking for the perfect horse game, I feel your pain, but it still hasn't been made yet; so in the meantime, you might want to play something else. Total rating: 8,5 /10, measured according to the mentioned bad standards.

I will preface this by saying I have a very high tolerance for janky garbage, especially in horse games, which is a genre of game that I love. That being said, this game is poorly made, overpriced, and lacking in charm. I will say that this game is super goofy in the beginning, and it's really funny for the first hour or so, but the more I played, the worse it got for me. The dialogue is hilarious, at least in the English version. Most of the assets in this game look to be recycled. I don't think the devs actually made them, but I could be wrong. There is a large discrepancy between the level of detail on the horse and human models. The humans are much more detailed. The horses are extremely poorly made and poorly animated. You can see clear chops in the animations, they're blatantly incorrect, and the horse moves as if it had legs made of playdough. The rider animations are also pretty horrendous. It's funny at first, and I probably wouldn't care if this game wasn't priced so high. I could overlook it if this was a horse game made in 2005, but this was made in 2018. Maybe the devs didn't have time? Maybe there was a lack of funding? I don't know, but I don't think this quality is acceptable at this price point, especially not from a game from 2018. The controls are really bad. Like, REALLY BAD. I regularly play games with tank controls without any trouble, but this game almost broke me. It makes the show-jumping part of the game almost impossible. Speaking of the show-jumping.... There are no actual courses. No creatively planned out jumping courses. You literally just jump in a circle around the riding ring. No creativity, no soul, no care. They don't eventually become real courses as you advance in the game, either. They're all like this for the entire game but the jumps get bigger. However, with the controls the way they are, I'm almost glad there are no actual show jumping courses. This is one of my biggest pet peeves with modern horse games. Make. Real. Show-jumping. Courses. The map is unnecessarily large. It's mostly empty and serves to artificially extend the length of the game by having it take forever to get from point A to point B. Despite the map being huge, I have come across no cross country courses despite having completed about half of the game. I'm not sure why they wouldn't utilize all this wide, open, empty space. It could be scaled down to a third of the size and it would feel fine. The horse care minigame is not good. The only thing about it that I like is that it's over with pretty quickly, but you can take your time if you choose to. First of all, you're told that your horse gets dirty and needs to be cleaned, but there's no dirt to be seen anywhere on the horse, even when the care indicator is at 0. Even when you go to brush your horse.... there is no dirt anywhere on it. Second, you only get to brush one side of the horse. This drives me crazy for some reason. It might not bother you at all. It's missing all kinds of little things that help with immersion, and it makes you feel like no care was put into it at all. I have seen horse games from the 90s do better. The horses, aside from being poorly animated like I mentioned earlier, look extremely cursed. The proportions are all wrong, they look more like mules than horses, they're considerably less detailed than the humans in the game, and the textures are mirrored. Normally, I don't care about textures being mirrored, but the horse they give you to start with is a spotted horse and it's really obvious that the texture was just copied and flipped on the other side. Also, they made the starter horse's mane and tail bright yellow... why? I understand that light manes and tails can often get a bit of yellowing, but this is just bright yellow. There are only 6 horse coats in the game. Cursed appaloosa with a bright yellow mane and tail, gray, bay, black, blanket appaloosa, and.... cream? They don't even have the most supreme horse, the chestnut. The side quests are tedious and boring. The only good thing about this game is your rival, Cornelia, who is hilarious. I would die for her. Don't even get this on sale. Find yourself a cheaper horse game that the devs actually pretended to care about. Overall, I would give this game a 3/10.
