While there's a minor inconvenience in how the CG gallery can only be navigated one image at a time, this is an amazing experience, a visual novel with high production values and action scenes second to none I've ever read. You spend long enough with the cast to get invested in every conflict, and the story varies between the straightforward initial plot of test pilots participating in R&D to rivalries, romance, espionage, terrorism and all out war against the aliens. It's a good distillation of everything the sci-fi side of Muv-Luv has to offer, and could be an excellent entry point into the franchise for those who are hesitant to invest their time on the rom-com side before getting to the action. That's not to say this isn't a love story at its heart, because it is. I salute the creators.
