After really enjoying the first three chapters, Oik 4 turned out to be quite frustrating. While it still maintains the usual structure with varied levels and a steadily increasing difficulty compared to previous entries, something didn’t feel right this time.
Some levels give the impression of being nearly impossible to beat — not because they’re cleverly designed, but because they feel unfair. A few can be figured out after some trial and error, where understanding the correct sequence is key, but others felt like I only completed them thanks to a bit of luck, even after dozens or maybe hundreds of attempts.
That’s not the kind of challenge I enjoy. This wasn’t about well-crafted difficulty, but rather poorly tuned mechanics that leaned more into frustration than genuine skill development.
Personally, I didn’t enjoy this chapter as much. It still has some good moments, but too many levels feel hard not because they’re well-designed, but because they lack the polish and balance of the previous games.
