Technicity Reviews

This is a review of the ‘Technicity’ computer game. The review is divided into several sections for easiness of reading. 1. Basic information. The game ‘Technicity’ was created by the ‘Osaris Games’ studio (website: http://www.osaris.net/). Game was published by RockGame S.A., (website: https://rockgame.pl/). The game was released on Steam on day 15 of month September, year 2022. According to the SteamDB website, the game received 118 patches in the year 2022, 4 patches in 2023 and 1 patch in 2024 (source: https://steamdb.info/app/781180/patchnotes/). It looks like the game is not having much attention from its developers according to the number of patches in years 2023 and 2024. This looks very strange while the game still has numerous problems and known bugs which are still not solved. 2. Game play and genre. SteamDB lists following tags for this game: 3D, City Builder, Sandbox, Building, Crafting, Simulation, Open World, Automation, Online Co-Op, Singleplayer, First-Person, Multiplayer, Transportation, Exploration, Modern, Realistic, Economy, Co-Op, Flight, Resource Management. The game really is a sandbox game where the most time is spend on building and driving vehicles. It has open world and co-op feature. However, other statements are not true. This game is not a simulator in any ways. This game is not realistic at all. 3. Simulacra. Built-in models (“pre-fabs”) of buildings are neither realistic nor being constructed in a realistic way. Built-in models have no usable doors, no inside walls and no ladders. All the buildings only have an external view which may seem a bit realistic from a very long distance. As soon as you look inside these buildings, you will see that they are simply a collection of simulacra. The scale and level of detail of these simulacra is quite poor. Vehicle physics is an utter garbage. Vehicle physics in old arcade games of 1990’s were much better. This is not a joke. Arcade computer games of the previous century had much better physics for vehicles than this game. 4. GUI. The graphical user interface has numerous problems and bugs. It looks like it was made either by blind or mindless people. 5. Music and Sounds. The music in the main menu is quite good. Background noise sounds are normal. Vehicle sounds are terribly unrealistic. For me it is impossible to play the game with such poor vehicle sounds. 6. Summary. The concept of the game is quite unique and interesting, but the practical implementation of all the ideas is terribly bad. Moreover, development of the game has stopped and there is little to no chance to see any improvements. The game looks like a project which was abandoned during its early phase of development. Do not buy such games.
