Simulation Steam Charts & Stats

There are things about this game that are promising, but require quite a bit more promise. Tool-tips, or text on screen telling the player what buttons are responsible for which actions, for example. I spent most of the first half of my time playing just trying to figure out how to do most of the things the game asks of you. Even with using the tutorial, I felt like I was quite on my own. Most of the game mechanics, I guessed at. Like what upgrades did for each building. Do they improve energy usage in the office? Do they speed up research (more on that later)? Do they improve the speed of healing. Intuitively, it seems like the answer to most of these is yes, but it would be quite nice to know for sure. There are a few quality of life things that need to be addressed as well. For example, if you are on the Hooman management screen, which you will be for most of the gameplay, you can not see how much money you've earned. Thus, you don't know if you can upgrade a building/purchase a new building yet or not. Additionally, the music in the game is quite repetitive, and also, if there are two tracks of music available, which there seem to be, they often end up playing over each other. Finally, at least for me, the game just didn't seem to work. I constantly had my research station manned, but for a month of game-time, nothing happened. It looks like maybe there is a meter in the upper left that should've been indicating research lab progress (again, tool tips would be handy here), but if that was what it was for, the bar on mine never filled. All said, if this game worked as it was meant to, it's quite a challenging and interesting little city builder, with a story I wish I could have learned more about.
