look, i didnt want base goku and vegeta just as much as you probably didnt. but at least theres something new in them. vegeta has his crazy level 3 and the galick gun, and gokus kaioken can be stupid broken when it lands, not to mention the massive damage spirit bomb that cuts through enemy health even if they are blocking. not bad characters but i would have rather had jiren and kefla. oh well... the dramatics and supers are worth 5 bucks in my mind, but you should probably get any of the other dlc characters instead like broly, vegito, zamasu,or bardock. you could also wait for cooler and 17. overall worth 5 bucks but if you were gonna skip one of the dlc sets it should be this one. 7.6/10

As many have pointed out, it is a bit silly to have such an iconic form like this as DLC. Saying that, Base Vegeta is still a fun character. He's got all the familiar classic techniques -- the Galick Gun, Dirty Fireworks, and the Destructo Disk Galaxy Breaker -- but no Oozaru which is a bit dissapointing. Though he shares a bit with the other Vegetas, Base Vegeta still has enough new techniques of his own to feel different.
Overall, it's a bit difficult to justify purchasing Base Vegeta due to his DLC status in the first place, but I'd still recommend him. Both aesthetically, and gameplay wise, Base Vegeta is a nicely done character. Buy him if you have a bit of money to spare, or if you're just a fan of Vegeta.

The funny over-nine-thousand man is pretty good in this game. He has Mai knee drop that teleports to the opponent, EX rocket kick that got nerfed but can still catch opponents sleeping, insane corner damage with his ki blast loops and OTG-hitting command grab that enhances the damage and frame advantage of both his supers, a 2S for wakeup meaties, and a j.2H that would make HYDE_GACKT jump for joy. He's definitely a strong pick, stick him in your point slot and you'll do fine, even though you might not turn many heads.

Base Vegeta shares a lot with the other Vegetas like his stubby normals, lack of range and middle of the road ki blasts, but completely changes his playstyle adding dificult to master combos with a high skill ceiling that requires a mastery of the games movement, his most terrifying tools are his amazing supers and loop combos.
For a casual player this may be one of the last characters worth getting but if you want a challenging rewarding character to style on people, Base Vegeta is the way to go.
