Don't even remember how this trash ended up in my library. 49 achievements and none of them are attainable.

Galactic Battles is a "template" flip. The "developer" filled out a basic template in the craptastic Construct-2 construction kit (a blight on gaming), changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and put it on Steam as if it was their own game. It's from serial Russian asset flippers, Droid Riot. These guys do nothing but copy premade game templates and game tutorials, fill out a few things/stamp out basic levels using the construction kit templates, slap on an asset flipped set of sprites/assets, and dump them on Steam and into cheap nasty shovelware game bundles as cash grabs. Trying to get paid for someone else's game templates, assets... at best, this is shovelware, at worst, it's a scam/cash grab.
This is an extremely basic 2D retro pixel shoot 'em up, with clunky gameplay, zero imaginative game design, asset flipped spaceships... it's just shovelware garbage.
Dmitriy Uvarov/Droid Riot/IndieLip have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include proper audio controls, so you can't turn off the annoying background music, you'll need to alt+tab out and stop the music using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to include this basic feature.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Construct 2/Construct 3 game engine/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur developers as it doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities (it's worse than GameMaker Studio!). Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine.
The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2023 (and this was released not so far back in 2018), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Galactic Battles didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for collecting 10 upgrades, but only around 19 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game.
The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.

Warning: Review Manipulation!

This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
Galactic Battles is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.

Vertical space shooter with zero story, decent albeit generic graphics and soundtrack.
Controls are stiff in that the spaceshift takes a little bit of time to change direction. It definitely does not offer a good arcadish experience, but I personally found not hard to get used to, and in a way it would be more realistic physics behavior anyway.
Gameplay starts hard, and avoiding certain attacks may be tricky given the clunky controls, but there are plenty of power ups and the enemies difficulty does not seem to scale up as you progress so as you power up the game becomes incredibly easy.
There are achievements but they do not work, which is the main major issue for me in the game.
One more among a phletora of vertical scrolling shooters, this one plays ok, but there are also plenty that are better. At least is cheap. 6/10

Gameplay = tiresome. Hitboxes = patchy. Settings = literally non-existent. Mechanics = border line irritating. 79 cents = wasted. At least the game is somewhat working and the music lowkey catchy.

Highly recommend you do not play this game. Ignore the control menu, it lies. From my minuscule amount of play time, I have learned.
-Enemies have no health bars
-Power-ups are all in Russian
Controls are as I know
-Arrows keys to move
-"Z" is shoot

A game obviously made in Russia. Most of the text is in Russian. For real though, how do you misspell rocket? Like really?
This game is so basic and boring that I got it with a 66% off coupon and still want a refund.

I got this game with a 33% off coupon for completing a trading card set for another game. I didn't think I could waste 66 cents, but somehow I was wrong.
The fact you can make a game with controls so bad had to be intentional. Plus the making of fake steam achievements should be considered as fraud. Steam should really remove this game from the store and refund everyone when they do.
