Gecata by Movavi 5 - Game Recording Software Reviews

I got myself this simple recording program when it was on sale, and it did a great work for a couple of my first videos, but quickly it came out Gecata can't handle many older games or games that run in specific modes. The program focuses on minimalism, so you can quickly attempt to record your stuff without digging in multiple options. The problem is, Game Recording Software should have as many options as possible, to fit technologies used in games. Many games Gecata doesn't even recognise as games and not recording anything at all. Dislike, dis-recommend, go and buy Action! which is also available on Steam.

First let me say this, i don't recommend for games on unreal engine 5 because it doesn't work. I used to record playing dead by daylight but ever since their new engine came out i can't record, it doesn't even crash it just stays on in the background doing nothing. I do recommend for other games tho, can record on cyberpunk 2077 without any problems. there are sometimes when it randomly glitches out, but i love how beginner friendly it is. I'm learning how to use OBS studios and let me say it's pretty hard. i tried fixing the audio desync but no luck still. been going to youtube to learn how to fix it. If you aren't ready for OBS Studio than i recommend this. But if you are planning to record a game one the new unreal engine 5 then don't buy this! I really hope they fix this so i can record using unreal engine 5 games

Don't buy. It doesn't work. It won't start when you start recording. It's with several games, but what I've tried, it doesn't seem to work. It's quite a coincidence when something gets uploaded. This software needs to be fixed but no one is solving it. Plus, it costs enough money that it doesn't do anything.

dont buy it, trust me its horrible - it doesnt let you record everything, example: i tried recording GTA san andreas/GTA V it crashed immediately, im pretty sure minecraft crashed too when i tried to record it, its not 0/10, but it has a lot of shit that needs 2 be fixed and that is one of the errors i just dont wanna the type other shit cuz im too lazy but that ones a problem. my friend has this too and he has the same problem so i think im not alone

Constant crushes. Unable to record games that have more than 15 years. Bugged in many ways. Don't waste your money.

It's fairly good. There are probably better options, but for its price (with 90% discounts) - it's golden.

Can it record? - Yes, but... 1. 20 euros for medium-bad quality is a scam. 2. "Meduim" quality is not an option. 3.I'd like to say that the software is decent, but it's not. You can't buy me with a "Medium-Fast" "Faster" "Very fast" "Super fast" "Ultra Fast (low quality)" converting/ compressing/ processing speed, I don't want it, i'm not faling for it. And yes, these are real options that you can choose and your quality won't get any better. I appreciate the effort, but I'll stick to Nvidia's GeForce Experience. The product is overpriced, 20 euros for somewhat "medium" quality IS a scam. Could've put more time and effort into final product or further updates. I highly recommend getting Action! instead.

If you are the owner of a heavy game, such as Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, Shutter games and so on, I don’t recommend this program to you .. (I have tried both versions 5 and 6) both of them do not bear the power of modern games. Unfortunately, like all current recording software of the 21st century, it's disappointing ... I hope to improve the software and make it more powerful in the next release so I can buy it again

Best video recorder ever, even better that fraps which would record on enormous file sizes AND put a yellow tint on video, haven't tried it on heavy games like LoL or ETS2 but will let you know what it does there. Edit: Please fix it when recording (desktop or game mode) minecraft, after i click stop it crashed and i lost 1h40min vid :( please fix it immediately if possible. 2022 Edit: This is better than obs, where obs would lag on recording, this plowed through. Props to a great product.

Missing key feature to record part of the screen. Only full screen recordings are possible. It's been an year since devs "promissed" to implement this feature but still missing
