Does anyone know how to work this game in the Oculus Rift?
I've pushed all the buttons but continue to stare at the reception desk.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
This is actually not a horrible game. If it had come out 2 years ago, this would have been a recommendable game. There's just so many better climbing games in VR currently. This is one of the poorer examples of a climbing game in VR.
To The Top, Climbey, Sweet Escape, The Climb (my favorite :P to HTC Vive fan boys), Cloudborn (super fun & underappreciated!), Freeze Climbing (best value, only .99 cents!) and even the climbing portions of Sprint Vector is more fun. Now granted, this game is going for a realistic indoor rock climbing experience which is different than all the rest.
Still, I would rank this game in the bottom of all the above games. It also has several bugs. I experienced several graphical glitches and sometimes I would fall and I have no explanation for it. Also, at times you need to jump up to reach the next spot by pulling yourself rapidly upwards, but you crash against the wall and that ruins your momentum. The problem is that it's impossible to tell why you hit the wall and also difficult to avoid, it seems random.
The graphics are also not great. They are going for a realistic indoor rock climbing facility and I'll admit that the handful of challenges look neat in theory and at a distance. But up close they just look ugly and ruins any kind of immersion you may have about this game. It just looks like a yellow circle. Very little effort went into these textures/assets. And the music is awful and blares on and on with no way to change it from what I can tell.
Rate 4/10. Should be a .99 cents game. Even Freeze Climbing is way better in the .99 cents category!
