It's an absolutely unique instrument. The recent updates are brilliant and really flesh out the concept.

Really an amazing tool with a unique workflow took a while to get used to but once you do its very intuitive. Devs seem very active and responsive which is highly appreciated. If your undecided highly suggest you try the demo. Highly looking forward to future updates.

Hi, i'm an old woman with a guitar and a laptop. My main kind of music is ambient. I have a little practical experience using synths. Using Mazetools Soniface Lab is a lot of fun. After a bit of practice it is a joy to use the intuitive interface. On my old tablet it is not possible to use multiple mazes but on the ROG laptop is works like a charm. The touchscreen works fine as wel. Unfortunatly there's no manual. I would really prefer to have one. Just for the simple stuff that takes forever to find out. Like; where is the content folder for recorded waves and mazes. The filemanager does'nt work properly. (in win10 you can find it in: C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Ectoplastic UG\Mazetools Soniface Lab). Hopefully that gets fixed soon through an update. If you drop selfmade waves into that folder they appear in the sample section of your maze. Really cool. You can record the actions you use to automate your moves and you can record the sound wich you can find back in the above mentioned folder. I import those waves into cubase for instance, and play guitar and synths over/in them. I very much like the grid idea. There are a lot of grids to choose from, from simple to complicated. It is a graphic playingfield that interacts with the so called mazes. Mazes can move through the grids. These movements can be automated or manually. The mazes could be compaired to an advanced synthesizer containing an incorporated drumcomputer and sampler. Al sounds can be altered, shaped and reformed. The visuals are often nice, sometimes to much for me. I haven't tried to alter that yet. Conclusion. It obviously takes time to get to know Mazetools Soniface Lab, but if you consider it as a musical instrument as i do, that is not surprising. To me its a very usefull and fun addition to my music. But i haven't mentioned 10% of it and i probably haven't seen half of the possibilitys yet. Have fun experimenting.
