I found the game very fun and beat it in a two hour sitting. The controls are simple, animation is good and overall it's very easy to get into. I would strongly recommend, but $10 is a bit much for a hour completion. I played through again, and I'll probably have to beat the game from the beginning one more time to get all the achievements. Criticisms: 1. The openning of the game for me is 10 times harder than the rest. I do turrent, economy, and shield, before I save up only 3K for the triple shot. Then the game completely changes and gets much easier as I hardly have to aim at all. After that I improve economy and triple shot only. 2. I feel like upgrades should either be more expensive or go deeper. I generally beat the game with over 300K left over credits and having bought all guns and upgrades. 3. The sound effects wouldn't turn off for me on Mac OS. The music did, but the gun and the explosions were always blasting my ear. The sounds are fine, I just like to watch shows when playing games and I couldn't hear the shows because of the sound effects that wouldn't mute. Honestly I would have refunded due to this if the games wasn't so fun.

This wasn't my type of game. I figured I'd try it out, but it was way to easy, and I felt like advancement would take an eterinity and I'm not a person who likes games that have a lot of "grind" in them. (Unless it is a grind I enjoy). Steam requires I give a "yes/no" answer to the question Do I recommend this game? so I'm going to have to say no. I feel this game is something I might give my child on a phone when I'm stuck in a waiting room and need to keep them occupied without explaing a lot of details. But this isn't for me, sorry.

A Very Nice addition to the classic gaming collection, experience how games once were a few decades ago. simplistic enjoyable with a spice of impending doom, this is a great Old-Schoolish Retro Rotator Defence with Star Wars Deathstar being as your Main Base, upgrading towards mass-annihilation of Planets.

So this is actually a pretty fun game. Simple but fun. The first 20 minutes or so are the most difficult part, but once you get a few economic upgrades under your belt you will sail through the whole game. I would only estimate about 2-3 hours of total gameplay for this title however, so the $10 asking price seems high. Still if you can get it on sale for $1 or $2, its a decent couple of hours.

Finished the game in 2 hours (im 28), went for early income upgrades and was maxed out near lvl 30/50 so spent 20 lvls without being able to upgrade anything, Near late game the drones you have (max 5) can get destroyed by being ramed into incoming ships so you lose them about 20 seconds into the lvl which makes them useless. Not a bad game but lacks content and NOT WORTH FULL PRICE. I Paid 1.14 and only played 2 hours and dont think ill spend more. I dont feel like theres alot of replayability here. Not sure if it was worth paying a dollar for a game I feel I could've played on a browser for free. Early lvls are hard because you're base only has 1 life, so 1 ship gets to it and boom, restart. You get like 1 credit per ship killed in early lvls and start with 900 credit, so early upgrades are hard to get, even more so if you chose the wrong one to start with. I feel like a kid too young would have a hard time getting past the early stages.

The controls are simple and intuitive, which is good news for a game like Space Stories: Darth Star that focuses on quick reflexes. But beware! Beneath Space Stories: Darth Star simplistic look lies a game which entails a good degree of swiftness, strategy and patience. While it is easy to get into, the difficulty surges over time with more obstacles and hostile ships. I cannot see any critical flaws with its gameplay, except that it might get tiresome after a long session. However, there is some element of addictiveness to it. In conclusion, Space Stories: Darth Star is a genuinely fun game where you can play for as long as you want.
