[h3] English [/h3] Having played this DLC, I can't highlight anything new except the mechanics of the airstrike and new weapons. The enemies are still behaving like ordinary dummies. The map itself and its locations are specifically empty, which is why you don't really want to explore it. The atmosphere is quite normal. The plot goal is simple - to reach the evacuation point. [hr][/hr] If you want to play this game, then I don't recommend it. It is better to buy for 100% or co-op walkrought. The result: 4.5 historicity out of 10. [h3] Russian [/h3] Поиграв в данное ДЛС, я не могу ничего нового выделить, кроме механики авиаудара и новых оружий. Враги по-прежнему ведут себя, как обычные болванчики. Сама карта и её локации конкретно пустые, отчего исследовать её не очень-то и хочется. Атмосфера вполне себе нормальная. Сюжетная цель проста - добеги до точки эвакуации. [hr][/hr] Если вы хотите поиграть в это, то не советую. Лучше купите для 100% или кооперативного прохождения. Итог: 4,5 историчности из 10.

Probably the best DLC out of the three released, but only because the run-and-gun gameplay loop actually fits the setting. It’s a short experience, easily completed in 2-3 hours, and while mechanically solid, it stumbles on a more fundamental level. The biggest issue is the ethical side of things—turning such a tragic and painful historical period into a VHS-style Rambo action flick feels tone-deaf, both then and now. If the game had made an effort to show the deep, lasting scars these events left on those involved, it could have been something more. Instead, it reduces the subject matter to yet another mindless shooter.

Far Cry 5 Vietnam DLC or Hours of Darkness is a solid but short experience. The map is as good as it gets, and the gameplay feels smooth, offering both stealth and guns-blazing approaches. Side missions fit the Vietnam War theme/Era well, and the collectable lighters return from the main game, adding a unique touch and grind. However, there’s not much of a story it’s mostly about escaping enemy territory. If you’re just here for the gameplay, you can speed through by rushing to checkpoints. For those who explore and complete everything, there’s about two hours of content, making it a decent but brief addition to the series.

The DLC feels like a collection of ideas rather than a DLC, if that makes sense. Like, when playing it it feels like some sort of tech demo with a loosely implemented narrative. If I was a game developer and wanted to find a publisher for my project, this would probably be something I'd consider showing off to get the idea across, but it doesn't feel like a full product yet. Still kinda enjoyable tho.

It's not bad but it's really short, you can complete the dlc in an hour if you rush it, the setting is good, Vietnam war feels like an appropriate scenario for Far Cry but this time, it's kinda wasted potential, has a little bit of exploration, go stealthy or loud, liberate an outpost, you know, same formula of the base game but on a tiny scale and only one objective, escape, the rest is optional. (And a few new weapons!) Personally, it's not bad at all but it could be better, if you bought the gold edition then you got an extra hour of gameplay that feels good, but if you're thinking on buying this dlc separately, get it on sale, it's not worth the full price.

Boooooring empty map and totally forgettable plot, character(s?), and historically insulting. Not even a single new interesting stealth mechanic for achievements related to it, [i]"If in the first act you have hung a pistol on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired"[/i]. Feels like a cut down FC3 ambience on FC5's graphics and engine, without any concrete villain or [i]doom thing happening[/i], but to simply reach a target point in the map.
