A heavy game that brought me to tears. Brilliantly written and if you are a dog owner this is a must play. You'll hug your dog after, guaranteed.

Have you ever felt the incredible urge to play a preachy guilt trip without actually being emotionally affected or learning something? Then this game is a perfect pick.
I'd presume the devs DO care about abandoned pets considering they made this - but they didn't care enough to put any effort into the project. A faceless, textureless dog in a textureless, minimalistic (or empty, rather) environment arguing with other animals about how their owner will most certainly return and help them only holds so much meaning. The game was technically preaching to the choir here as I actually DO give a damn about this topic - and even within that, I found it preachy and not much else.
I've seen this kind of graphics style done well - this is not an example of that. This game is bulky animations, a limited dialog system where the "choices" barely contradict each other anyway and a passive-aggressive "No pets were harmed in the making of this game"-screen at the end. Add to that some disorienting "labyrinth"-sections that don't convey much other than "Dogs don't see all that well" and you have the end result of this game.
There was so much potential there - and it went to waste. More dialog would have given the player an option to actually identify with the dog and FFS it would've chewed on the damn leash. If anything, this game makes a great point for why it's unwise to sit around and do nothing when hardship enters your life - it certainly doesn't show what actual dogs would do in a situation like that.

i loved what they went with the story. Really short but it told the loneliness of a dog that was left behind perfectly. i was getting emotional
Then those gameplay sections took me right out of the emotional engagement i had. Nothing that would make one hate a game but it just left a sour taste behind rather than a emotional impact it should have on me. wish the text based parts were longer and more fleshed out.
but still i must say give it a shot! There's no "up to you" option so i must go with no~

Tiny game with a lot of heart. It makes us think about our pets and makes us want to cuddle them. Emotional story that'll make you cherish your pets.

Disappointing! What a horrible game! The screenshots are misleading becuase most of the half hour (!!!) you run three times through the same white boring blurry maze. The story is also questionable. Why would a bee and a bird know more about pet owners than a dog? Why doesn't his body language match his words? E.g. he says he is scared but stays stiff on the rock almost all the time. Sorry I cannot say anything good besides that I like the looks of the dog....

This is likely the saddest "gaming" experience I've ever had. I say "yes" to recommending the game only because it was a powerful experience, for me, but honestly unless you just want to feel sad for a while I can't actually recommend you play it.

2/10.
Pros: Cute doge.
Cons: Bugged game - can only play in full screen not windowed mode.
2. If you alt tab it freezes the game.
3. The game has no save function. You've got to beat this in 1 go baby.
4. Achievements are broken. A single play thru unlocked 6/8 achievements. Starting a second play thru resets the achievements back to 0.
5. Overpriced. For 3.99 USD you'd figure the game would be longer than 30-40 minutes, or good, or not a bugged piece of a software. If it's on sale for 50 cents or less, go for it, otherwise you'd be better off hitting the Taco Bell breakfast menu and hoping for the best.
6. I feel more betrayed than the dog who left out in the hurricane to die by his owner (Jack or David, depending on your ingame choices.)

Till the Dawn, Waiting is a heartwrenching story about an abandoned dog who waits for his owner to return. (Remember Hachiko? Yeah, a little bit like that.)
Despite this game being as short and simple as it is (and despite the occasional bug and grammar mistake), this game still managed to make me tear up. I have a dog of my own whom I love with all of my heart, and the fact that the situation in this game is something that happens daily to loyal pets like her breaks my heart. Taking that issue and turning it into an interactive experience could help raise awareness about the problem, which is what I hope this game will succeed in doing, regardless of its ephemerality.
That being said: if you ever plan to adopt a pet, please visit your local shelters. There are lots of abandoned four-legged friends in need of homes. Or, if you don't want a pet but you have some money to spare, donate to shelters (or legitimate animal charities). And please - treat animals with respect and kindness.
