Pretty good hidden-object adventure game. Varied gameplay, detailed environments, nice graphics and animations. The story is cheesy but ok. The game could be a bit more difficult though, quite often you basically have one item and one spot to use it.

I'm a huge HOG fan, and I've been completing many titles over the course of many years. Cadenza is certainly one of the better and more memorable ones I've played. Giving some allowances for some implausible HOG mechanics, the storyline in general was enjoyable and not completely run-of-the-mill. Puzzle mechanics were refreshingly innovative and each HOP scene actually felt purposeful instead of just being stuck in for no reason (as is the case in most HOGs). Not to mention, the soundtrack was also delightful and helped to immerse the player in the time period. The music actually had some variation throughout the game instead of simply reusing one track for every - single - scene. Highly recommend this game!

While I didn't like it as much as the other Cadenza game, this one is still superior to other HOGs. I also didn't get as much play time out of it as the other, either. That being said, like the first one, it has a very engaging story, interesting enough puzzles, and varied HO scenes. The music is GORGEOUS and so is the artwork. I highly recommend.

Honestly – I haven’t played a HOG yet that is worth the full price. Advise whenever possible wish list and buy during a sale. STORY: Interesting – centered on New Orleans jazz scene shenanigans. Musical score is jazz centered and cool, cool cool. GRAPHICS: Nice, a step up from years gone by TRAVEL: Includes map that lists things to do or objectives to accomplish. Allows teleportation. MECHANICS: Typical HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES are not classic conventional a mix of require you to interact with various objects to obtain others, riddles, wood cuts etc. MINI-GAMES are at time simple and other challenging. BONUS FEATURES usual LENGTH: Depends on player – this is a good game for an afternoon/evening. ACHIEVEMENTS: if you’re a seeker there are plenty here. VOICE ACTING: For this genre it was pretty acceptable
Short version: 80%
The story of Cadenza 2 suffers from some weaker hidden object tropes, but the gameplay is better than in most similar products.
Long version:
Cadenza 2: The Kiss of Death brings us back to New Orleans and the world of lounge music, on the trails of a serial murder targetting the former members of a band. Unlike the first game though, the main character plays a less active role, mostly just travelling between the gorgeous areas. There is some meaningful plot with a few exciting twists, but it is somewhat slow and tends to move forward on its own. Even if the story was terrible, the gameplay is still better than in most HOGs. The inventory is never crowded, and it is usually easy to figure out where to use an item. The hidden object scenes have high quality and variety, but they lack a bit in numbers. Combined with the occasional easy puzzles, we get a great HOG… just not as good as its near-perfect predecessor. I have to give a special mention to the bonus chapter, where we play as one of the supporting characters. It adds a few exciting elements and ends up one of the best additional segments in HOG history.

An excellent HO game with lovely jazz music in the background. A bit on the short side, so buy during sales. I played both main game and bonus chapter in 5 hours and I'm not fast. The plot was good...can you stop the Black Widow from killing your fiance? Why is she after him? It was quite thrilling at times. In each scene you have to find a golden ticket..which were quite easy to find. Morphing objects in the HO scenes were much more difficult, but you have the option at the end of game to go back to replay those scenes. Graphics were excellent...quite stunning in parts. Music was gorgeous (if you like jazz). Voice acting was adequate. Gameplay was pretty easy. No bugs. Highly recommend. An excellent game for beginners to HO games. 8/10
