So my choice of "no" is a little nuanced. For what the game is, it's perfectly fine - and what the game is a Steam version of a crappy mobile game with a mediocre translation. If that's what you want to get, then yeah, get the game. It's definitely a lot better with a one-time purchase than doing a mobile equivalent where they're always nickle and diming you with microtransactions. But do I recommend the game? In general? At no point am I going to say to anyone, "Hey you should play Dragon Cliff." So, no. Part of that is this is the sort of game where I find it really hard to put together a superior strategy. There's so many little pieces that you have to put together, many of which you might not be very clear on how it affects things or what it does at all, that it becomes very difficult to discern what's even important or not. And you can get to a point where even when you follow a walkthrough and just do whatever it says to do, you still get stuck much sooner than the walkthrough writer did and wonder what you're doing wrong. A big part of it is that the plot is... uncomfortable and doesn't really feel resolved? I mean if you pay attention to zero text then I suppose it does, because you defeat the final boss, yay! But if you DO read the text you gotta wonder if you're a propagandized brainwashed murder machine and like... especially in the current climate I don't love that. I would never appreciate that plot regardless but especially not now. But if all you're looking for is to get to enjoy that crappy lil mobile game experience without doing some kind of 14 days of logging in doing chores bs or whatever, then yeah this game is fine.

I see why some don't like this game, i really think it comes down to personal prefrence. The rounds are automated, only allowing you to choose what ability to use and when, personally i find it enjoyable, but if you're someone who wants to be waay more active, something else might fit better. It feels kind of calm, just a casual game to play when you get bored. It's a great game to have on the side if you're tired, doing poorly in other games or just want something new.

this is not bad. visually it is proper crap, just another early 90's pile of dung despite much better being available for free open sourced. the mechanics are where this one shines. good concept well implemented. only had a short look around as i am not yet bored enough to put in time and effort on something this old looking, but i know where to come when i am.

I went in expecting a quick little strategy RPG, but turns out, this thing has some serious depth. Or, maybe it just doesn't hold your hand much. Either way, I ended up spending a lot more time than planned figuring out the best builds and team comps. Honestly, the lack of super detailed guides out there made it a bit of a slog at times. I'm the kind of player who likes to optimize, and without a clear roadmap, it was a lot of trial and error. But, you know what? It wasn't a bad thing. It made figuring stuff out feel more rewarding. Even in 2025, the core gameplay loop is still pretty solid. The art style is unique, and the sheer amount of customization options is impressive. It's got that "just one more run" kind of addictive quality. If you're into strategy games and don't mind a bit of a learning curve, Dragon Cliff is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared to put in the time and do some experimenting. You'll get there eventually!
