Hardcore Mecha was an incredibly fun time. I would love to see a sequel in the future! My biggest critique is that there isn't more of this game!
Pros:
- The mecha designs are all awesome
- The story is predictable, but is a fun time
- Some great music
- Voice acting for important story scenes
- Several fully animated cutscenes
- Mecha combat and movement feels appropriately heavy
- An optional wave survival postgame mode with tons of playable robots. I could see myself sinking hours into that mode
- Lots of different guns to play around with
- Great boss fights
Neutral:
- There are a few gimmicky missions that are not nearly as fun as the main game
- Only one playable mecha in the main story
- Controls take some getting used to
- Multiplayer achievements
Cons:
- The localization is a bit rough in places
- Melee attacks feel much worse to use than ranged attacks
- The wave survival postgame mode requires an absurd amount of grinding to unlock the really interesting mecha
- Lots of multiplayer exclusive mecha that don't even appear in the postgame mode
