Pretty good game, gameplay is smooth and controls are responsive. It's a shame my xbox controller does not work with the game, would be really cool to play with it instead of the keyboard

For this price it's a steal. If you enjoy retro games, this one is all in to retro. I really like that this is not another metroidvania, but a classic platformer with stages that you need to clear. Overall the game is pretty simplistic in it's mechanics, but it's actualy it's strenght imo. You just sit down, play stage 1, then progress to stage 2, 3, etc. Very realaxing I must say. I'm definitely gonna go bac kto it alot when get my gamepad fixed.

At first it feels pretty simple, you start off 2 abilities. One you can turn invisible, and the other being invincible. You start off with those 2 and its limited to use (but rechargable. Your weapons are kinda weak, regular shots are awfully weak while rocket launcher you have good power and can use it rapidly. Rocket launcher is limited to use and rechargable as well. This is more of a puzzle platformer where you have to collect objects in order to progress through the level. There are fair amount of levels with boss fights. Movement controls are kinda touchy but adaptable. The story in this game is strange. Would recommend if you have nothing better to do honestly.

Game is a waste of time until game pads are allowed 8 directions Northwest and Northeast directions compensating for times when the pad it's quickly pressed at an exact 90 degree angle. Right now it's too stiff, feels like playing the Click Clock Woods level in Banjo Kazooie with an Atari 2600 joystick Kudos on the soundtrack, however, which comes the closest to emulating the music style in the NES version of Rygar.

This is a fun little Metroidvania, i do recommend you pick it up only if it's on sale as the controls are a little interesting to say the least and the boss fights are slow but puzzling. You have to get your movements jussst right, but slip up and you're down in seconds. Besides that, the chip tunes are bumping, the art style is retro, worth the $3 i picked it up for.

I bought this game with a real sense of hype around the art-style and seemingly fast pace to it. First stage in I noticed every aspect of movement felt off for me. You move too fast horizontally whilst having a seriously janky jump (which feels oddly fast and jittery), enemies hit hard - yes hard, maybe that's the sense of (hardcore - old games) but simple as it didn't feel like that for me, it felt inconsiderate and outdated whilst also being to the detriment of the player intentionally (or unintentionally) for the sake of stating it "harks" back to older titles. The lack of direction and information in this game is it's downfall.

You can usually get this for 69 cents on sale, so that in mind it's a not bad purchase then. However the game still managed to annoy me enough to ask for a refund. First of all there is something wrong with movement. It is kind of snappy, but same time there is this weird unsteadiness that makes moving on small platforms annoying. Basic gun is basically useless and I have no idea who thought this was a good design choice. For the weakest enemy you have to shoot ages to destroy it. Basically you just use rockets that have to recharge after you have emptied your ammo. Shooting also lacks proper feedback of hitting especially with bosses. Then the shooting controls have this weird thing where it gets stuck to previous direction and shoots the wrong way. This is especially annoying when fighting bosses. You also need to use rocket jumping a lot and it's fine when doing on spot, but not working properly when trying while running. The last complaints are graphics and level design. The backgrounds are often blending with the area where you can move. Level design is about exploration which is fine, but levels look so similar that every place looks the same. Then there are lot of leaps of faith that usually ends falling on a spike or enemies. At least during the first world it doesn't mean insta kill, but still annoying. So yeah the sum this up. In pictures this game looks better than during playing. The game is not a metroidvania. It is level based and more like early 90s pc platformers. If you like those, then for the sale price it might be for you. If you like more tight and exciting action platformer, then it's better to look elsewhere.
