I got mine as part of the big sale in 2018, when I simply bought every ee mod available. So, buy it to support the team, for sure, but do be aware of the flaws. The worst part about this DLC is that some the portraits cannot be seen over all the other mods if make any adjustments in the Hero Creator mod. That's where I messed up. OH! It was so beautiful and I loved it so much. But as soon as I saved my character and put her in another mod to play, I got a blank portrait, and can't get my old one back. If you can, I don't know how! Appreciate any help on this.
The regular portraits that show up in the screen when you are building your character are mostly fine, and do show up in the other ee mods. These portraits are not fine art, to be sure, but many of them look quite nice, and they do add a lot more personality to your character. So, you may play an elven archer, but you feel like a Minotaur inside? Then pick that as your portrait! Some of the NPC's in Tyrants of the Moonsea have battle axes for portraits, even though they are Orc Shock Troops that wield a battleaxe. This portrait pack adds variety and fun to the game, and the price is minimal.

I can only recommend this pack as it is if you have an interest in supporting the company. The portraits are nice to have, especially if you don't want to fiddle with the workshop or creating some yourself to find more. They are fairly different from the default options, which is good, as it allows more flexibility with creating a character. All in all it's a good addition to the game, except that the asking price is pretty high for what amounts to 10 pictures you could likely find online and add to the game yourself for free.
Get it on sale, or get it if you want to support Beamdog or the artists. Either way the portraits add some much needed versatility to the default options.

This is an awesome expansion!
Sure, it's "only" 16 character portraits but those 16 images are of good quality, show some really fun characters and it provides a better variety in choices. And normally for a mere 3 bucks? Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I think that the people who recommend against this have never made any artwork of their own and thus don't realize the effort that goes into it.
Not to mention... it's not as if the game is forcing you to use these. Meaning? It's actualy quite easy to add your own portraits to the game if you want to, all it takes is one console command: "ConvertPortrait".
So yah, I can definitely recommend this. While I do agree that grabbing this together with one of the available Steam packages is the best of ideas (it gets you the best for your money) I also believe that the expansion as-is is also well worth it.

I only even have this because I bought the complete package, but like, this is such a pointless thing to pay for. If you want more portraits, just find some image files online and format them for use as portraits. It's easy.
Good things:
You get some new portraits.
Bad things:
From all the portraits you get there was not a single one that was good looking in my opinion and the basic ones were better. Also I strongly believe that things like that already should be in the game or made as a free DLC and not as paid one.
Conclusion
Getting this for free would be ok. Paying for this is like punching yourself in the face.

This DLC gives you access to 10 portraits. They are decent, nothing special but if you enjoy NWN:EE then you should pick this DLC up to support the developers for all the hard work with all the updates and bug fixes to the game over the years.

The portraits included in this pack are extremely low quality. I don't know how they acquired them, but they clearly went cheap. I'd never consider actually using any of them, because all the base game portraits are far better.
If you want an idea of how lazy these are; one of them is a goddamn minotaur. You can't even play a minotaur!

Don't buy this, only get it if you're buying the bundle, which it is included with, which is how I got it, and I've never used any of them. There are literally 100s of portraits you can download for free. If you want to support the devs, buy the soundtrack, or one of their buggy "premium" modules. This is the most useless DLC for the game, unless you have a raging hard-on for one or two of these portraits.

Not worth it, only reason I got this is because I bought the full bundle
I mean, its just 10 portraits, what did you expect?

This expansion is pretty lame. Only reason to have this is if you bought the complete bundle. Don't buy on its own because it just adds a few mediocre character portraits.
