I bought SuperTrucks when it first came out, it was a cool game but a little rough around the edges. The Dev (a one man team I believe) has made quite a few HUGE updates over the past several months and I'm finding the game even more fun to play.
I have been playing the 'Career' mode (have not tried MP yet), but you do get screen notifications when a MP game is available - just waiting to get a little better before trying MP.
With Career mode you start in 1 city that has many racetracks, all tracks but 'one' are locked. You need to 'win' the race on that track before the next track unlocks and then you work your way through all the races until the final track - where you race the 'Champion' for that city. When you beat the Champion the next city is unlocked and rinse/repeat the process. Also, as you race there are 'pickups' on the track; extra Nitrous, money bags, cards and chance for SuperCrates. (the Cards have pictures of Truck parts on them, these are used in the shop to upgrade your Truck - SuperCrates contain multiple cards)
The game has a Shop where you can upgrade the various sections/parts (which start at Tier 1) for your Truck, there is also a 'Customize' area where you change the Paint, Tires and Decals (I think) - these Customize options become unlocked by 'leveling' your Truck or they can be obtained (unlocked at least) by getting a random bonus with the SuperCrates (they still need to be bought, once unlocked). Duplicate parts and high-tier parts (that you cannot use) can be sold from the Shop window - just double-click the card.
The in-game currency is 'money' $$ and Gold - spend the Gold wisely it does not come as easily as the money, you will get money every time you race - win or lose. You can also buy SuperCrates (from the Shop) in the hopes of getting some parts for your Truck to upgrade, there is also a chance to 'Unlock' a new 'Customize' option.
There are 3 daily challenges that allow you to earn some extra money, the challenges (so far) have been the same three; Distance Jump, Obstacle Course and a Timed Race.
The Dev has been actively supporting this game over the last 3-4 months making a lot of positive changes, has been responsive on the Forums and is open to ideas/suggestions to improve the game.
I have been having a lot more fun with the game since all the recent updates and so I recommend the game. At only $10 I think it's worth a try and if you're not sure you can refund - I think you will know within 2 hours if you like the Arcady type of fun this game offers.

Works on Steam Deck thanks to the touchscreen, it helps navigate the menus. Much like the classic game it is fun. Controller support is there, but not all the way. A.i. could use some work (they get super fast towards the end of the race) I give it a 7/10. Glad to see that we still get updates. With time they should iron the wrinkles on this game.

I bought this because it kind of reminded me of offroad for the NES. I can safely say im glad I picked it up. Im sure ill be playing more of it when I get time. If you ever played Offroad or Super Offroad for the NES and or Super NES, and you enjoyed it. I would say pick this up and you will be pleased!

Arghh. I'm rarely compelled to leave a review but the interface of this game is terrible. "Partial Controller Support" means you can't do anything out side of the actual race with your controller. I also have a terrible time with it letting me select the upgrade cards and drag them into the upgrade slots. One card will select and drag with zero problems... try to select a 2nd different card and it will not work until you've tried it like a dozen times.

I really wish that the reviews here had some sort of sliding scale as opposed to up/down or yes/no.
Having said that, this game isn't that bad that I would rate it a NO. But, it leaves a lot to be desired...for me.
The user interface is kind of non-intuitive. They sort of guide you through upgrades but it's still strange. Don't much care for trying to 'catch' upgrades on the track. Why not make the races more competitve and then use the money you win to upgrade? Like the old FlatOut series?
Would also have liked to see some damage. When you hit the wall or another truck, it sounds more like a pinball game.
But...for $6.99 U.S., I guess it's OK. It's kinda like a game for a phone...maybe it is? Or was? I was really hoping for more....
UPDATE
After playing this several times, making it to 'level 7', I have changed my review to a NO.
User interface looks nice but not intuitive at all....just doesn't make sense.
After passing other trucks like they are standing still, 20 seconds later, they not only pass you, but first hit you and knock you into a wall.
Just really poor......
Now saying that I just wasted 7 bucks. Bleh

Not sure why this game gets so many bad reviews. Im in my 40s so I grew up on Super Off Road. This game is pretty darn close to it. It also has a long progression warm up, you don't start having any competition on the track or really getting your truck fast until you've put a solid hour into it. Then it gets really fun. For $5 it was a no brainer to pick up. I would of dropped $20 at the arcade for the 53 minutes I played this today.

I think what this game primarily lacks is the "Devil in the details".
I bought the game after the 2.2 update and so comparing the new features to the reviews listed here prior to mine, I can get an idea of what's been improved.
HOWEVER, I believe there are still core elements of the game that should be addressed in order for it to make more sales, here's my outline:
PRO:
* I think the engine of the game is alright; the steering needs tightening and perhaps some more collision consequences to the AI but otherwise it's OK.
CON:
(starting from the beginning of the game)
* MENU/GUI: The Menu is antiquated for today's standards; the giant buttons, no controller support for the menu - feels like it was quickly added in once the game engine and tracks were made, because it's obligatory to have a menu system, etc.
* UPGRADES VS LIVERY: so there are a 2 main currencies in the game:
- (green) vehicle upgrades
- (yellow) vehicle upgrades (mystery box style) and for decals/skins
because the (yellow) currency can be used for vehicle upgrades, there is no practical benefit to using them for skins, plus the visual prettiness costs a lot, for what you potentially get in return for spending it on performance instead.
- I think this can be fixed by either separating the 2 currencies to be exclusive OR make visual bonuses to be awarded for winning/special plays, events, etc etc.
* MULTIPLE EVENT TYPES OVER RACING: this is less of a fault and more of a personal preference but I'v believed racing games should be about racing events with other racers; as opposed to time trails, slalom driving, stunt jumps and so on. I believe people are here to race opponents, not race themselves or challenge cement wall-dodging. If there is a real need for these extra events then I would say put them in a separate game-mode; and they can be utilised there and out of the way - but as I say, I'm not sure if I'm the minority on that one.
* 2ND CHAPTER: So the first chapter introduces your adversary (kind of like NFS Hot Pursuit) and then you go through a series of events until you finally compete with them. The 2nd Chapter seems to just be a series of buttons to each event and then congrats you for beating the 2nd Adversary and then continues to normal going into the 3rd event - did the devs forget to setup a graphical map/interface for the 2nd Chapter? This is one of those examples that needs polish.
I've noticed the Devs have updated some of the reviews which makes me think they genuinely care about the game and its playerbase; I'm putting this much detail into the review, not because I want to be a jerk but in hopes to help the Team in where they might improve, because I honestly think there is something within this game that can be better used, with time and patience and I think if the Devs have a look at some other racing games and their layouts, I reckon they could iterate some core aspects (particularly menu GFX and economy balance) and improve on a massive amount of detail with just small but very deliberate changes.

I was hoping for a modern version of "Iron Man Super Off Road", but I was disappointed. Well, the game is ok, and the graphics while driving are pretty nice for this type of game, but the controlls are not very precise, it's very chunky, the menus are really ugly, the sound effects are embarassing for a modern game. I'm happy I bought the game on discount, it's definitely not worth the original price. It looks fun, but it's not.

This is a pretty fun update to the old Super Offroad game we all remember from arcades and NES. There is a lengthy Career progression with tons of upgrades similar to the old games and more on top of that. And despite having 2 different in-game currencies they are all earned from winning races or leveling up your character (not microtransactions!).
There are also some nice mini-game events like the long jump and obstacle course that change it up from time to time.
One negative is that your truck starts off pretty slow, and it takes several races before you start to get a decent sense of speed. It's good for getting used to the controls, but definitely makes you feel less excited to race at first.
I'm not a huge fan of the graphics effects...the lighting is a bit harsh and there are some line overlays on the trucks and things that make it all feel aliased/jaggy or something. It's not bad by any means, especially from a team of this size, just slightly hard on the eyes if you pay attention to it.
My biggest complaint is probably the AI rubberbanding. You're almost always better off sticking with the other drivers, because if you get too far ahead they're going to come boosting out of nowhere and blow your doors off as they win the race. I wish this was toned down considerably to make them more competitive overall but less "come from behind" weiners.
Although there are a ton of upgrades, as far as I can tell you're limited to the one monster truck for vehicles. You can change color and get liveries for it, but you won't be changing into buggies or stadium trucks or anything if that matters to you.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this if you want something like the old Super Offroad. Support a tiny indie team! The developer has been super responsive to bugs and suggestions, and hopefully that continues with polishing the game even further!
