It may not be "Saints Row" in the typical sense of Saints Row games. It's got all the elements there from stopping gangs, side missions etc. As a Reboot, it feels okayish. My favourite parts of the game have to be the larping missions. If you're bored of all the other Saints games or just getting started into Saints Row, it's alright. Not the best but not the worse.

What a shame. Such a downgrade in humor, gameplay, and writing compared to its predecessor. I'm not even mad when I'm not having fun tryng to play this, I'm just disappointed what could of been.

After 100% the game, imo its not a bad game. It isn’t anything wild but it’s a nice time waster.
The gameplay feels smooth, driving feels nice and the side activities are really fun.
It’s main content that needed some more work. The pacing is way too quick. It would have helped us connect to the main cast of characters, understand the other gangs and world building if the pacing slowed down. Let us embrace this reboot. There are a lot of characters in the story. You need to slow down or else you end up not connecting with them.
I brought this game on sale. I had fun with it.
If I may also add a Hot Take:
The Saints Row reboot is a more consistent Saints Row game than Saints Row 3, 4 & get out of hell.
Don’t get me wrong the reboot is quite bad yet it was more consistent and it wasn’t the game that led to the series to lose its identity. The game to blame for that is Saints Row 3. Hell Saints Row 3 messes with the OG cast from 1 and 2. I still like 3 a lot however imo it feels like the reboot is getting additional heat when Saints row 3 is the game behind its loss of identity.
Anyway, 4 dollars a pound.

The game is fine it's not awful as people say that it is , but also is not the best one for sure.
It's not perfect , it's not classic how previous parts are but it's worth your time.
Gameplay is filled with nice action overall , and if you enjoy open-world games with a bit of humor and customization so yeah...it's worth to give a try.
Just simply give to this game a chance.

although it is a pretty fun game.... it does not compare with older ones at all sadly. it just doesn't cut it. and the coop is a big mess riddled with bugs, quests not finishing etc. my friend had a lot more problems than me which was pretty frustrating.
despite all of that i did kinda enjoy wasting time on it. playing a less than serious game is just sometimes a good times off to shut down.
overall i would give it 5.5/ 10.

i thought this would finally be worth it at 6 bucks, but the game keeps crashing and what i have been able to play is not very well executed. (edit: switching from DirectX 12 to Vulkan stopped the crashing for me, but the rest of what I have to say very much stands)
the idea of a saints row reboot is not inherently bad, and i like the idea of trying to get back to that street-level gameplay of the earlier games, particularly if they go for a more modernized tone of saints row 2 - goofy world building but with relatively legit action and character moments. but boy, every character in this has "gen-x guy writing a zoomer" syndrome. they even managed to make "commit crimes and sell your soul to pay rent," an extremely relatable idea, feel very stilted and forced.
i think it's probably time for a new writer to try a saints row, or at least have the current writers try a very new direction. with red dead 2 rockstar finally managed to, at least partially, pry themselves away from their previously hardline and poorly-aged "every character is a cynical stereotype with an unrealistic awareness and articulation of the societal problems that led to them being who they are" "satire" writing, and let moments of true character growth and the beauty of the setting come through. for example, Mary-Beth and Charles feel more like real people, whereas every character in GTA5 feels more like an abstract concept than a person. it's a path i hope rockstar continues on for gta 6, and i think that volition should take a page out of their book and try making a compelling game with goofy moments, rather than a wacky edgy game with a story and characters shoved in.
put another way: i think it was one of the hausers who, some time after gta5 had come out (i wanna say around 2016), said something in an interview like "how do you make a gta6? how do you satirize america now? it's even more stupid now than our games are." i hope gta 6 has a good answer to that question, because this saints row does not.

Honestly the game's good. It's fun, the characters aren't annoying to me, it's got plenty of things to do, and the fashion options for the boss are great. I guess the launch was kinda rough but at this point it's solid.

Saints Row: Gat's Broke!
To start, it's not as bad as people say, but still, this is the worst Saints Row ever released. Volition should be ashamed for butchering their franchise this badly. The boring storyline, annoying characters, and frustrating combat with zero to no comedy make this game an insult to fans of the series. I was tired of shooting an entire magazine to kill a random bum with armor or imagine a situation where you have to shoot a guy (with no hat armor) six times in the head. Am I fighting Spongebob Squarepants, or what? I was tired of watching cutscenes and listening to characters in this game. The main characters are so annoying I literally could not enjoy the story. I was tired of side mission activities being as dull and uninspiring as possible. I was tired of useless perks and skills, which are worthless. I was tired of non-existent humor. I was tired while playing this game.
The only redeeming qualities of this game are the Vehicles and Challenges. (I hate cars.) A few of the main missions were generally done right and were entertaining (if you remove sound). They had fabulous ideas, like adding Hoverboard and wingsuit (Just Cause 3 did it better). New weapons (Combat sucks, so using them is not fun).
Saints Row Reboot is just mediocre at best. Avoid if you liked the previous games. This game still tries to imitate the series's charm, but on tries, it ends. Saints Row fails at being a Saints Row, Fails at being a GTA clone, and fails at being a good game.
