I bought the game for the art and felt it was worth the price. The gameplay mechanics were fairly interesting in terms of the systems, but the difficulty was extremely low. Fortunately, the game only took about two hours to beat, so by the time I might have gotten annoyed by the lack of challenge, the game was over. The ending seemed a bit rushed. Still, for the cheap price, memorable art style, and interesting mechanics, I'm happy I bought the Line.

Bought because the art and concept interested me. It's an unplayable mess. Not going to waste my time.

The game has an interesting visual aesthetic and the world that it sets you down in is compelling (if confusing). A lot of things aren't explained well and the game expects you to figure out a lot on your own, which would be okay if the game didn't randomly crash or freeze while you're playing. Any time you initiate a sequence where you or the dog are doing the exploration minigame, the game freezes and it's impossible to make progress. Since searching for items and bartering those items to move ahead in the line is a core component of the gameplay, this is a gamebreaking bug which makes the game unplayable. I like the look of the game and could overlook its quirks with regard to controls and storytelling, but nobody should be paying money for this when it's essentially broken.

the Line is an artistic fever dream with an intresting premise. Your main objective is to stand out the long line, waiting for resetttlment from the oppressive east segment of the City. No one has the time in their life to wait out the line so you have choices on how you choose to proceed: Barter with people with for their spot, Fight them for their spot, or Expose their weakness (after a "pyschic" puzzle) Unsettling art and sound choices contribute to an uneasy atmosphere. The "pit" and weakness puzzles were simple, and optional. I enjoyed the variety of ways you can get through the line. The fighting was turn-based but you can play completely pacifist if you so choose; I imagine that would take much longer than me which it only took me about 1HR to play through the game (granted, I farmed for antidepressants so I could buyout my skill tree) so I started off very strong after encountering .... something interesting, at position 60 of the beginning of the line. While I don't think I'll ever understand exactly why some of the artistic choices are made here it adds an uneasy, unorthodox, macabre environment where people and animals have become mutated as you go along kept it interesting I don't want to spoil the ending for those who want to go through the line for themselves and experience so if that is you, considering checking this game out, or waiting until it goes on sale. Definitely an experience. **spoilers** What I will say **spoilers** encountering an alien at position 60, is the same alien that is flickered in at the end, when you get to the front of the line. Implying the people there are not real, but just a projection from those alien creatures. No matter who you get through the line whether you fight, barter, or expose weaknesses this is what fate awaits you at the end. I enjoy contemplating that premise.

the mini games keep freezing if you enter as the dog which you don't know beforehand and it's a rather confusing bizarre art project instead of an actual game overall but some people might enjoy this. everyone has a different taste. as of now because of the freeze bug this game is unplayable. check for patches clarifying that this bug has been dealt with before buying this game.

"The Line" has great audio and exceptional art being collaged with deformed-dystopian renaissance assets, which make for a great atmosphere (probably the best selling point). You play a female protagonist with a mutated pet, being forced by executives to resettle to another part of a grim urban environment, ultimatively standing in a long line of refugees and attacking, pursuing or bargaining your way forward (or simply by waiting). Some elements are randomised (item drop and enemies) and these aspects could lead to a great experience, unfortunately it is quite buggy: (This was mentioned by the community before) The scavenge-minigames work sometimes, sometimes they just freeze your game, the trap mechanics in Act II don't seem to work at all, your battle animation can lock into your movement and sometimes you cannot interact with NPC's although everything feels like you should. I mean, I don't mind obscure, hidden and crude in terms of presentation or mechanics, but this clearly seems unintentional or at worst unfinished. I managed to force myself to one ending (while being completely overpowered at the start of the second chapter which seem to be a balance problem), but it didn't felt like a playthrough in which I could enjoy all the aspects that where intended. This is a bummer, because the presentation itself could ultimatively be very promising and unique, but the glaring issues should be fixed. I nevertheless still think the developer is worth looking into - their style seems great!

Strange game with strange graphics Slight minus because of the bad english. Combat becomes easier and easier, but if you ever die, it will be hard Redommended just for the weirdness factor alone.

I really wanted to like this game. It has quite a unique look and atmosphere. It is very buggy however. The biggest issue is that when you try to explore the game crashes. Since you need to explore to get ahead in the game, it is virtually unplayable.

I have struggled 9 hours to finish and understand how to play this game, this game is not made for everyone, but also for those sames reasons i suggest you to play it ! I've never been so well surprised while playing this game, the atmosphere, consepts, just the graphism that i find really clever by using collage (which i've never seen before in a game) really made this game that i thought dull, actualy pretty addictive. If you want to experience something different in video games, you should really try this one (but be sure to check out the beginers guide, dont be an idiot like me and mess up 9 hours on it the first time). PS : Marginal Acts, I'll sure be checking your other games :)
