Jeremy Soul, as always, has created the best fantasy music ever.

As always with Jeremy Soule, great atmospheric music, decent battle music.

This was my first rpg along with baldurs gate. A timeless classic in terms of d&d story. Help cure a plague, unveil a broader threat. Then go and stop that threat before it brings destruction! I love that NWN is still being updated and patched!

So good, severely underrated. Jeremy Soule is an amazing composer. Although Elder Scroll's Soundtrack is amazing aswell, it's a bit sad to see Projects like this get less attention.

The original campaign of [i]Neverwinter Nights[/i] has not aged particularly well, and in truth, even by the standards of the time it had its flaws. Yet if it is remembered with nostalgia, I think a large part of that has been down to the amazing score by Jeremy Soule. Memorable, often majestic, these short themes enliven the game so much, and most are equally enjoyable to listen to on their own. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I never enjoy listening to battle or "tension building" music in my leisure time, and that is a good 40% of the OST. But the calm and peaceful city and forest themes are so nice that it's still worth buying, in my opinion. Highlights include "City Market" (not actually heard in a city market), "Luskan Docks" (not actually heard in the Luskan Docks), and "Homesteads" (heard in a charwoman's house in the city of Neverwinter). Not that the nomenclature always goes awry - "The Store" is an accurate descriptor - indeed, this short piece somehow manages to capture the very essence of "store-ness" in a way I can't quite explain. And if Soule's music can lift up a mediocre campaign, it can make a great one truly shine, as is the case for the [i]Hordes of the Underdark[/i] expansion. Some of my favourite tracks on the OST are dark and moody offerings from [i]Hordes[/i]: "Frozen Wastes of Cania" being the best example. Still no idea why Beamdog insist on putting unnecessary parentheses in the titles of the expansion tracks, as having "(SoU)" or "(HotU)" after every one looks very messy. But I can't fault the music.
